Yeomen News
Greenbriar Middle School
Principal’s Message…
Hello Greenbriar Families,
Let’s hope the Groundhog doesn’t let us down for that early spring he promised! As we round out the winter, we will be laser focused on preparing for our AIR tests in April.
The Greenbriar teachers, staff, and administrators are commit-ted to creating and maintaining a learning environment where all students feel safe and comfortable. We take pride in the work that we are doing with your student. With that said, I want to re-mind you that my door is always open to you for honest conver-sations about anything that you may have heard or experienced at Greenbriar. In our age of social media, it is easy to see a very polarized version of events. And while I may not be able to share specific details pertaining to students, I am able to give you a better understanding of the situation as a whole. The Greenbriar Team is committed to your student’s success. We appreciate the opportunity to address any issues with you in a respectful man-ner. While we may not always agree, we can be sure that we are united in our shared commitment to your student.
Have a wonderful February and do something for yourself! I know how hard you work as parents and I appreciate all that you do for your student.
Respectfully,
Jill E. Schissler Principal Greenbriar Middle School
Recipients of Positive Referral for 1st Semester
As part of our PBIS program at Greenbriar Middle School, we have 3 behavior expectations that we teach and strive
for our students to reach. Those expectations are: Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Be Ready To Learn. When a stu-
dent is caught exhibiting one of those behaviors, their teacher or another staff member can recognize them with a posi-
tive referral. Students who receive a positive referral have their name announced in the morning and get a phone call
home to their parents. Additionally we would include their name in this month’s newsletter. Congratulations to these
students that have been responsible, respectful and ready to learn throughout this school year!

viewed on how well the student used their artistic vision to portray the theme, their origi-
nality and creativity.
The winners are pictured below with Megan Gurkovich (PTA Reflections Chair) , far left,
