Dear Parents / Guardians Parent-Teacher Dialogue Session 2 2013 ( for parents with internet access ) As partners in your child’s education, we strive to provide you with regular updates through multiple ways:

Our Parent Briefing Session in January aims to provide you with information on what you can expect as your child embarks on this new year

Our Mid-Year Parent Teacher Dialogue Session aims to provide you with feedback on your child’s learning and development in school

Open communication between you and the teachers via e-mail, telephone conversations and face-to face meetings when required

We are pleased to invite you to our Annual Parent-Teacher Dialogue. At the meeting, you will be able to discuss his performance and progress with his teachers. If you have been in contact with your child’s teacher(s), you may choose not to attend the Dialogue Session. Alternatively, you may contact or email the form and/or subject teachers for their feedback on your child’s progress. Your child’s report book will be returned through the pupils on Friday, 31 May, the last day of term 2. Date : Thursday, 30 May 2013

We have harnessed the use of technology to manage this year’s booking of slots for the dialogue session. With the online platform, you will now be able to:

Select your preferred time slot

Co-ordinate your own schedule if you have more than one child in the school

Book the slot with the teacher(s) that you wish to see as long as the slots are available Each parent is only allowed to book a maximum of 2 slots per child eg you may be seeing your child’s form teacher and a subject teacher

You are required to print the confirmation slip on line and bring it on that day as an entry pass to the school

You are required to complete 2 surveys : SEM Parent Survey & PTD Survey

Please note that as this is an online booking system it will be on a first-come-first-served basis hence, if your preferred slot is already booked, you would need to select another. The window period from 18 to 30 April 2013 has been allocated for all parents to complete their online booking.

Details on how to log in and complete the online booking is attached in (Annex A). Please note that the system will close on Tuesday, 30 April 2013 at 5.00pm, hence should you have missed the booking period and would still like to find out about your child’s development, you can e-mail your child’s teacher for feedback.

5. Once logged in, click on Tools and select Consultation Booking.

6. Select Calendar

7. Under Group, select your child’s class

8. Under Personnel, select the teacher whom you would like to book an appointment with

FAQs for PTD

1. Q: Can parents book again if they have booked the wrong teacher?

A: Parents must ensure and decide on the teacher(s) that they want to meet.

Parents are able to delete the booking by going back to the calendar link and click on

the “x” button found at the right hand corner of the booking page.

2. Q : How many times can I book?

A : Booking is done based on each child or pupil. For example if you have 2 children in

the school, you can book a maximum of 2 slots for child A and another 2 more slots for child B.

This is to allow other parents to meet the child’s teacher as well.

3. Q: I could not find the teacher’s name in the list?

A: A copy of the teachers’ list by level, class and subject is given to parents so that it will help them to locate the respective teachers that they want to meet.

4. Q: Who is/are my pupil’s subject teacher(s) ?

A: Besides the teachers’ list, parents are advised to log in to the school website and click

“Synergistic Staff” to view the staff photos for easier reference.

5. Q: When I book using my child’s name & BC, another pupil’s name appear.

What can I do?

A: Refer them to AsknLearn Helpdesk – 67779661 or send an email to Miss Siti

6. Q: I am unable to book the slot online?

A: Refer to guideline given to log on to Parent Portal or send an email to Miss Siti

Faryanty at siti_faryanty_jaffar@moe.edu.sg

7. Q: Are parents allowed to book more than 2 slots?

A: Each parent is allowed to book up to a maximum of two appointments and will not

be able to extend their appointment with the same teacher.

8. Q: Would I be able to view the booking slots?

A: You can refer to the appointments you have booked under “Booking”.

9. Q: As a parent, I have not been informed of the online system and therefore missed

the booking. What can I do?

A: All parents regardless whether you have internet or no internet access, will receive a

hardcopy from the school. The window period for booking has been extended longer

this year from 18 April to 30 April. Parents are advised to take note of the booking

period and book early to avoid disappointment.

10. Q: How do I know the teacher’s name is correct and he/she is the teacher that I would

like to meet?

A: Please log on the school website and click “Synergistic Staff” and “Teaching Staff”

where all the staff photos by level s are displayed for easier reference.
