I. Operating principles and featuresThe manual cold spray marking machine is the specialized equipment for road marking at roomtemperature, and is used for straight lines, dotted lines, induced lines, zebra crossings, texts andgraphics in the filed of roads, parking lots, ground of epoxy floor, airports and other areas.

The driven force of the device produced by gasoline engine. It pushes the hydraulic drivendiaphragm pump to work through vibration absorbing coupling. The paint is inputted or outputtedwhen the diaphragm is opened or closed. The machine stabilizes working pressure and controlsuniformity output for cold paints by relying on the pressure tank. So it can mark lines withuniform thickness width. The equipment is provided with automatic washing function, so it isconvenient for repair and maintenance.The equipment has the advantages of stable pressure, uniform coating, clear line, flexible andefficient, excessively used and the like.

II. Main structure of this equipmentThis equipment is mainly composed of under-frame, gasoline engine, hydraulic driven diaphragmpump, pressure tank, position device, line guide, spray gun and other components.

IV. Use steps of the equipment(I) Preparations before use:

1. Inspect status of the equipment:

①Inspect the fixed screw bolts of the gasoline engine, diaphragm pump, pressure tank and handle,

ensure all of them are completely tightened.

②Install high-pressure soft pipe, suction soft pipe and backflow pipe, and inspect all pipes to

make sure there is no any damage. Otherwise, must change a new one.

③Inspect whether the pressure gauge is in good state. If the damage happens to dial plate or the

indicator shows pressure existing under situation of no pressure, it must be replaced.

④Inspect whether the gasoline engine is fed with moderate oil and gasoline, and inspect whetherthe diaphragm pump is fed with appropriate No. 46 wear-resistant hydraulic oil.

2. Inspect the cold paints ready for use:

①Inspect whether the cold paint is under warranty period, and that over the period should not be

used.

②If the paints contain sediments, you should firstly filter them using 60-eye filtering mesh. And

then fully stirred by stirrer, so as to assure the paints prepared for use has no sediments or junks. In

order to avoid block the suction pipe and internal components of the pump.

③According to the cold paints concentration and road marking construction requirements, the

moderate benzene thinner should be added to the paints and then it should be stirred well. Since

heavy concentration of paints will block pump or spray gun, increase burden to gasoline engine

and pump, and destroy the internal parts. It is prohibited to use the gasoline or other bad-quality

thinner, or else, the equipment pipes and seal components shall be severely damaged, and the

spraying effect will be affected as well.





3. Inspect the construction site:

①It is not easy to remove the line once marked, so the pre-marker should ensured be correct and

easy to be recognized before spray, in order to avoid mistakes.

②Inspect the surface needed spraying, clear the stones, dusts and other obstacles, so as not to

cause a pause during construction and influence the spraying effect.

(II) Operative steps of the equipment:

1. Smoothly place the paint tank into the fixed paint tank frame, and then put the suction pipe and

backflow pipe into the paint tank.

2. Counterclockwise rotate the pressure regulating valve to zero point (note: do not rotate it below

zero point so as not to make it come off from the pump), and anticlockwise undo the backflow

valve.

3. Correctly start the gasoline engine, adjust the accelerator to 1/2~2/3, keep the gasoline engine

rotate at middle speed. Avoid the gasoline engine running at high speed for a long time, in case

of damage due to overload.

4. At the same time, the paints shall be sucked in by suction pipe and shall flow into the paint tank

through backflow pipe, for letting paints circulate in pump and discharge the air in pump during

the circulation, in that case the pressure will be stable when spraying. The operator needs to

carefully observe the backflow pipe until no air is discharged from it (namely, the surface of paint

has no bubble any more), and then turn off the backflow valve.

5. The suction pipe shall continue to suck paints after the backflow pipe is turned off. The operator

needs to carefully observe the paint tank, when the water level of paint has a obviously constant

drop and it no longer drop 2~3 minutes later, which means the pressure tank has be fully filled

with paint. Now the pressure can be adjusted.

6. Clockwise rotate the pressure regulating valve slowly, and pause 10~15 seconds for every

2~3mm rotation. Meanwhile, note the indicator of pressure gauge, and repeat the aforesaid

rotation for 2~3 times, until the indicator stabilizes between 10MPa and 12Mpa.

Then tightly lock the positioning nut which is in the pressure valve. (note: the pressure should be

slowly adjusted. It is prohibited to rotate the pressure valve by a big margin, and pressure value

also should not exceed 15MPa. Otherwise, the equipment is easy to break down, even lead to the

security accident).

7. The spray core has two sides. One is round and another is flat. They can be adjusted through the

rotary vane on the spray head.

The round side adjusted outwards stands for the cleaning mode, and the flat side adjusted

outwards stands for spraying mode. The flat side should be adjusted outwards for normal spraying.

The round side can be adjusted outwards when the spray head is blocked, adjustment before spray

and clean after spray.

Before spray, the spraying width should be firstly adjusted by adjusting the height of the spray gun

track (means the distance between the spray head and the ground. The higher the distance is, the

wider the line will be. In return, it is more narrower). Adjust the width of the spray on the

cardboard or metal sheet until the desired width is sprayed out.

(III) Power off , cleaning and maintenance1. Power off steps:①After finishing the road marking constructions, you should power off the cold spray markingmachine. Firstly, anticlockwise rotate the pressure regulating valve to a lower point. Secondly,adjust the gasoline engine to idle speed status. Finally, turn off the gasoline engine (It is banned





to directly turn off the gasoline engine when it is normally operating. Or else, it is more likelyto make the driven assemblies immediately stop at the time of high-speed operation. Furthermore,the connecting devices between the driven assemblies of the gasoline engine and the pump may bebroken down).

②Anticlockwise rotate the pressure regulating valve to the lowest point (0 point ), and slowlyopen the backflow valve when the indicator of pressure gauge is closed to or in the zero point, sothat let the paint in the pressure tank and pump flow back into the paint tank.

2. Washing steps:①It is very necessary to thoroughly wash the equipment after operation so as to avert occlusion.Firstly, the paint in the paint tank should be replaced with the benzene thinner, then starts thegasoline engine. When the pressure regulating valve is in the zero place and backflow valve isclosed, the thinner is sucked by suction pipe, and gradually filled with the pressure tankcompletely. The backflow valve should be slowly opened when you see the water level of thethinner no longer decreases. At this time, the thinner is sucked by suction pipe, and it will flow outfrom the backflow pipe after circulating in the pump and storage tank. So the washing for thepump and storage is finished.②Rotate the pressure regulating valve, regulate the pressure within 5MPa, take away spray gunfrom the spray gun rack, undo the rotary vane of spray head, and adjust the round side of spraycore outwards, and open the spray gun aiming at the thinner bank, so as to wash the pipe and spraygun (please do not wash the spray head in case of damaging the spray core and influencing thespray effect). The spray gun and suction pipe can be soaked into water for a while for avoiding





occlusion led to by the left dry paint. But, please clearly remember that they should not be soakedinto the thinner.③The equipment should be washed again using the clean thinner in case it is unused for over aweek. If it is unused for over a month, the machine should be fed a bit of oil, and it should bewashed with the thinner before being used next time.

3. Maintenance tips:①After the bump and spray gun are washed, the paint sprayed on the equipment surface should becleaned up as well. Then, please pick up the tools, inspect the pressure gauge, pipe roads andtighten the screw bolt to make a good preparation for next construction.②For waste decrease, the thinner for washing can be kept till next time and mixed with the coldpaints for use. But it should be kept in a good manner for avoidance of safety potential troubles.③Hydraulic oil is aging and contaminated. The hydraulic oil shall go bad after the equipmentworks for a certain period, so it should be replaced regularly. Otherwise, will seriously reduce thelifespan of the machine. The first-time replacement for hydraulic oil should be carried out for anew machine after it works up to 100 hours. After that, the hydraulic oil should be replaced oncefor every 200 hours, and 2.5 liter (46#) wear-resistant hydraulic oil can be added every time, andthe oil amount could be controlled through hydraulic oil ruler. The hydraulic oil shall be sprayedout from the oil mouth on the top of the ruler when the equipment is operating if it is slightlyexcessive. This is the self-protection function of the equipment and belongs to thenormal phenomenon.④ Air may enter along with the hydraulic oil when replacement, so it is usually necessary toempty the air after the hydraulic oil is added. The specific steps are: start the equipment,counterclockwise rotate the pressure regulating valve 5mm from the zero point. At the time, somehydraulic oil will flow out from the pressure regulating valve, and let it flow 30 seconds or so,then please immediately tighten the screw cap when the flowed-out oil no longer has bubbles.Properly regulate the pressure according to the construction requirements ( if the air in the oilcould not be completely empty at the first time, you should empty the air again following theabove steps.).⑤The pressure regulating valve should be regularly washed since the impurities in the paint areeasy to be left in it, which may make the pressure regulation incorrect. The high-pressure filteringmesh should be washed regularly as well. Inspect and replace it in time if there is any damage onthe mesh. The equipment kept idle for a long time, before reuse, it should be washed with thethinner at first and then added the paint.⑥The gasoline engine should be maintained regularly (consult the instruction of gasoline engine).

V. Matters need attention for safety

1. The maximum pressure can not exceed 16MPa. And the pressure should not be kept over

15MPa for a long time so as not to affect the lifespan and lead to safety potential troubles.

2. The high-pressure soft pipe should not be overbending or have great pressure for avoidance of

damage. For avoidance of someone being hurt, the pipe roads and other related parts should not be

removed if the machine has pressure. Do not let the spray gun neither aim at yourself nor others.





Both the use and placement of the equipment should keep away from the fire.

3. Under the normal working status, the gasoline engine should operate at middle speed. The

gasoline engine should be firstly adjusted to idle speed and then turned off after spray is

completed. Quickly starting and immediately power off are easy to destroy the transmission and

connection assemblies.

4. The whole machine should be instantly washed after the work is suspended or ended if the

following situations happen:

① the paint is the one easy to dry.② the paint is mixed two-component coatings.

③ the paint is the one easily depositing.

The machine should be completely washed if it will not be used for a long time for avoidance that

the paint sticks on each valve port after it dries. And that the equipment will not normally run next

time.

5. For preventing air, the paint level is not permitted to low to the suction pipe during spray. Once

the air enters, which shall make the pressure unstable. At the time, open the backflow valve to let

it flow back 2～3 minutes. If the pressure still can not be stabilized, you should empty the air

following the above steps.

6. The whole pipe roads should be sealed well if the equipment will not be used in the short term.

And the whole system should be isolated from air. The whole system and pipe road should be

washed with the thinner if it will be idle in the long term. Each oil needing part should be fed oil,

and the spray head should be kept after being washed.

7. Please pay attention to assembly sequence and direction when removing the spare parts, and do

not break each seals. The screw bolt should be tightened if the connecting place of pump leaks

paint. If it still leaks paint, please open pump and replace the seals.

8. The equipment can not be seriously inclined. Or else, it is easy to make the gasoline engine

spray oil, and the gasoline engine will not be started. If the aforesaid situation has been occurred,

you need to clean the oil according to the below said steps (if the first step can not resolve the

problem, please directly do the following steps in order):

① Take out the sparking plug and wipe it clean or dry it, and then re-install it back;

② Take out the sparking plug, and put a cotton bar into its hole; constantly pull the starting rope to

make the cotton bar absorb the oil; and then re-install back the cleaned sparking plug or replace a

new one;

③ If the equipment is inclined for a long time, and the starting rope is hard to pull, you should

open the gasoline engine and clean inside, then a new sparking plug should be replaced;

④ Supposing the gasoline engine still can not work formally after being cleaned, the carburetor

and other components need be replaced, or a new gasoline engine should be changed.
