Equity Indices
Market Review
The domestic markets extended losses for the sixth consecutive
day, dragging indices nearly 1 percent down ahead of Union
Budget. The barometer index, BSE Sensex corrected 588.59
points or 1.26 percent to close at 46,285.77 and the NSE Nifty50
fell 182.90 points or 1.32 percent to close at 13,634.60. The Nifty
Bank outperform the Nifty50, gaining 207.20 points or 0.68
percent. On the broader market front, the S&P BSE mid-cap index
fell 126.14 points or 0.69 percent and the S&P BSE small-cap
index was down 45.70 points or 0.25 percent. Overall market
breadth was negative. On the BSE total 1327 shares advanced
while 1587 shares declined and 150 shares were unchanged.
Foreign Institutional Investors net sold shares worth Rs 5,930.66
crore while domestic institutional investors net bought shares
worth Rs 2,443.2 crore in the Indian equity market.

Business News
L&T – the company has received contract for Mumbai –
Ahmedabad high speed rail corridor project, amounting to
approximately Rs 2,500 crore. The order is to procure, fabricate,
assemble, paint and transport 28 bridges.
Tech Mahindra – the company has reported net profit of Rs
1,309.8 crore for the Q3FY21, increased by 14.3 percent. While
company’s revenues are at Rs 9,643 crore. Margins of the
company improved on account of increased offshoring due to
work from anywhere model. The company has proposed a
merger of Born Commerce and Tech Mahindra Business
Services
Vedanta – company has registered 35 percent increase in the
consolidated net profit at Rs 3,017 crore for the December
quarter. Net sales of the company rose 6.4 percent at Rs 22,498
crore. Net debt of the company stood at Rs 35,357 crores,
increased by 14,084 crores, majorly on account of dividend
payment and intercompany loan to Vedanta Resources Ltd.
L&T Finance Holdings – the company is all set to launch Rs
2,998.61 crore rights issue today (on 1st Feb.). the company will
issue right shares for Rs 65 per equity share. The equity shares
will be offered in the ratio of 17 equity shares for every 74 equity
share held by the eligible equity shareholders of the L&T
Finance Holdings as on the record of January 22, 2021.

Economic Update – India & Global FPIs remained net buyer in January – Foreign Portfolio
Investors remained net buyer of Rs 14,649 crore in Indian
markets for January month. According to data published by
depositories, overseas investors pumped in net of Rs 19,473
crore in to equity segment and pulled out Rs 4,824 crore from the
debt segment.
GST collection for the January 2021 touch all time high – for
January 2021 Goods and Service Tax collections touched an all-
time high since introduction of GST of Rs 1.19 lakh crore.
Average year-on-year growth in GST revenues for the first four
months of the second half of the financial year has been 8
percent.
China’s factory recovery slows in January – China’s
manufacturing Purchasing Manager Index (PMI) dipped to 51.3 in
January. Factory activities in China grew at the slowest pace in
five months in January, majorly hit by a wave of domestic
coronavirus infections.

Technical View
NIFTY - Daily Chart – 13634
Market Outlook:
The key economic event of Union Budget 2021 could
dictate the direction of the market. On the higher side the
resistance for the NIFTY is seen at 13930/13980/14240
levels. If NIFTY sustains above 14240 level it could test at
14450/14475 levels. On the downside, the support will be
at 13590/13450 levels. If NIFTY trades below
13450/13370 levels then we could see NIFTY testing at
13130/13050 levels. One is advised to note that the short-
term trend on NIFTY is likely to remain weak and breakout
of 14240 levels on the upside would negate the short-term
downtrend.
BANK NIFTY – Daily Chart -30565.50
Market Outlook:
BANKNIFTY is likely to remain consolidation and the next
support for the BANKIFTY is seen at 29810 levels. If
BANKNIFTY breaks below 29810 levels then the next level
for BANKNIFTY is seen at 29445/28976 levels. On the
higher side the resistance will be at 31010/31240 and
breakout of 31240 would take the BANKNIFTY at
31520/31700 levels.

F&O Cues
The Put Call ratio stood at 0.98 levels and suggesting that
consolidation with negative bias on NIFTY Future. The Nifty
futures were at 13709 at premium of 74 points compared with
the Nifty's closing of 13634 in the cash market.
On the options front, call open interest (OI) of 13.18 lakh
contracts was seen at the 14500-strike price and this will act
as a crucial resistance level for current series. This is
followed by 14000 strike prices, which holds 12.87 lakh
contracts in open interest, and 14200, which has
accumulated 7.13 lakh contracts in open interest.
Put open interest of 22.17 lakh contracts was seen at 14000
strike price, which will act as crucial support for current
series. This is followed by 13000 strike price, which holds
21.35 lakh contracts in open interest, and 13500 strike price,
which has accumulated 17.82 lakh contracts in open interest.
The Indian Volatility Index was seen increasing by 8.47%,
closing at 25.20 indicating volatitliy may remain high in
coming trading sessions.
