Past EventsBloor Street Entertains. Wednesday November 26th 2008 R.O.M - 2007 was listed in BizBash’s Top 100 events in Toronto as the number one best event in the Benefits, Galas and Fundraisers category beating out events such as the Brazilian Ball Teddy Bear Affair.

With 23 exclusive boutiques in the Bloor-Yorkville neighborhood hosting gourmet dinners, this annual fund-raiser for Canfar is the most prestigious benefit in the city. The 2007 event, which attracted 848 people, was marred by a bomb threat outside the Royal Ontario Museum, which led to the last-minute cancellation of the venue’s after-party. (Canfar staged an online auction in early December in an effort to raise additional funds.) The 2008 event will be held at the ROM on November 26.

September 8th 2008. 2007 was listed in BizBash’s Top 100 events in Toronto as the number two best event in the Benefits, Galas and Fundraisers category.

Richard Gere, Sarah Ferguson, and Wyclef Jean were on hand for the fourth annual gala at the Four Seasons Centre last September. The 2007 event, hosted by Matt Damon during the Toronto International Film Festival, raised more than $1 million in support of non-profit organizations including H2O Africa, Healthy Kids International, and Right to Play. The 2008 gala was a tremendous success held on September 8th the fundraiser saw a stellar performance from Nikki Uronski

The Silent Auction & How it works:

The cost of item is marked on the bid sheet as the STARTING BID

Attendees bid the item up in increments of $5.00 to $10.00 until the Final Bid is determined at the close of the sale.

After credit card charges (IF APPLICABLE), and taxes (UNLESS THE CHARITY COLLECTS THE MONEY), the difference between the Final Bid and the cost goes directly to your cause.

There can be variations to the program, determined by unique cases and opportunities, but these details can all be discussed prior to the event.

Key Elements of the Silent Auction:

 Attendance: the more attendees the greater the competitive spirit and return;

Community Support: Members of the community help drive attendance and success;

Location: an accessible location, made comfortable to the bidder that has items fully displayed to the attendees is important for success.

Corporate Events: the silent auction works extremely well at corporate events, providing a unique venue that encourages participation from

attendees. It allows the corporation to support their favorite charity and gives your Team a spirit building event, while also providing the
