Toddler Time (2 ½-3 ½ years)Children will learn how to socialize with other kids, begin to recognize basic colours, shapes, letters and numbers, and will develop independence by staying in a group setting without Mom or Dad. Participants develop problem-solving and decision-making skills as individuals and in partners. Candidates learn basic lifesaving and resuscitation skills needed to be their own personal lifeguard. Includes 400 metre timed swim. Pre-requisites: Swimming ability of YMCA Star 4 or Red Cross Swim Kids 8 Recommended minimum age: 12 years Members $52.50 Non Member $70.00 Wed Sep 16 – Nov 18 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Bronze Medallion Bronze Medallion teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue education: judgment, knowledge, skill and fitness. Rescuers learn advanced lifesaving techniques for challenging rescues of increased risk, involving conscious and unconscious victims in varying water depths. Participants develop stroke e"ciency and endurance in timed swims (500 metres). Includes CPR-A. Pre-requisites: Bronze Star or 13 years by the last day of course Members $105.00 Non Member $140.00 Sat Sep 19 – Oct 31 1:30 – 4:00 p.m.

Bronze Cross Bronze Cross is designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training, including an introduction to safety supervision. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for all advanced training programs, including National Lifeguard® (NL) and Instructor certifications. Includes a 600 metre timed swim and CPR-C. Candidates develop proficiency at performing patient assessments, managing aquatic spinal injuries, and preventing the loss of life in a variety of aquatic emergencies, while developing stroke endurance and fitness training skills. Bronze Cross is also worth 2 Grade 11 High School Credits. Pre-requisites: Bronze Medallion Members $105.00 Non Member $140.00 Sat Nov 7 – Dec 19 1:30 – 4:00 p.m.

B!=<aNFOa>6Pw/G.CQFR Non-competitive swim club run by professional and certified coaches. Each practice includes one hour of intense swimming, drills and stroke correction plus dry-land warmup. Three practices per week. Register based on skill level.

Junior – Must be able to swim 50m of front and back crawl. Swim lesson equivalent is Swimmer/Star 1. Wed 3:40 – 5:00 p.m. Sat/Sun 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

Development – Must be able to swim 100m continuously with proficiency in front and back crawl and introductory knowledge of breaststroke and butterfly. Swim lesson equivalent is Star 2/3. Wed 3:40 – 5:00 p.m. Sat/Sun 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

Intermediate – Must be able to swim 250m continuously with proficiency in front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke and butterfly. Swim lesson equivalent is Star 4. Tue 3:40 – 5:00 p.m. Sat/Sun 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.

Senior – Must be able to swim 500m continuously with advanced skills in front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke and butterfly. Previous swim club experience required. Tue 3:40 – 5:00 p.m. Sat/Sun 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
