Japanese food habits

• Before eating they say "Itadakimasu" which means "We receive"

• After eating they say "Gochisousama" which means "It was a feast"

• Dinner conversations can be about anything as in most countries.

• They eat most meals with "Hashi" or chopsticks. There are many table manners to follow when using chopsticks.

• Family dinners at home often have several large dishes in the middle where you can pick and choose what you want to eat and the quantity of it.

• Business meals are not uncommon, but less seen than in the US. Instead of dinner, often business is done in clubs over some drinks.
