• You have probably experienced pollution, • it’s the smog and other contaminants

• that float in the air we breathe.

– Alert, today the level of pollution in the air is high.

• In some places, such as Los Angeles, Mexico City and China, • you can hear radio or TV alerts like the following...

– Children and the elderly should not go outside,

– Those who practise an outdoor sport should not do so,

– People with asthma should carry their inhalers at all times,

– The rest should avoid going out, or wear a mask if they do.

• A solution to this problem • was created some 10 years ago.

• They were silent.

• They did not produce any type of pollution, they didn’t even have an exhaust pipe.

• They could easily recharge at home or at the mall; you even had preferred parking if you had one of them.

• How was this possible? Why did it happen?

• Ten years later these cars disappeared.

• In the first place you could not buy these cars, you could only lease them and when the lease was finished you did not have the option to buy.

• General Motors took back all the EV1s, in spite of opposition from its users (on the t-shirt you can read: Save the EV1)

• In 1997, Nissan launched the electric model Hypermini at a Tokyo show.

• The city of Pasadena (California

USA ) obtained these vehicles for some of their employees.

It was very popular for its easy parking as well as general adaptability.

• The city tried to buy them but Nissan refused.

...DESTROYED THEM

• In the year 2006, the lease expired and the city of Pasadena was required to return the cars to Nissan.

• Nissan recovered all the cars and later...

• In 2005, all the lease contracts expired.

• This electric 4x4 was a high quality vehicle and was well accepted by its users.

• Toyota immediately recovered all the leased vehicles and later...

• In 2003, Toyota decided to halt the production of the RAV4-EV.

DESTROYED THEM

• Finally, VICTORY.

• Toyota allowed those who had leased the RAV4-EV vehicles to buy them.

• But then some US citizens got organised.

• They created the “DontCrush” association to try to save the RAV4‑EV.

• This association badgered Toyota for three months.

• He was arrested and put in jail with a sentence of 22 years and 8 months for destroying 3 Hummers (American cars that consume a lot of petrol).

• While electric vehicles are destroyed, those using petrol are well protected as we can see in the following.

• In June of 2001, Jeffrey Luers, a 23-year old American activist for the defence of nature, had a sad experience.

• He wanted to express himself this way to make people realise the threat that these monsters represent to our planet.

The lobbies of the oil companies don’t want electric vehicles.

They want to keep up the oil trade to protect the oil companies. They will continue to kill and destroy anything that gets in their way, including us,

with their polluting vehicles poisoning all the people on our

planet.
