A new combo ship, the M.S. TSU,was scheduled to sail from the Port ofHouston the first of July after takingon containers, Ro/Ro vehicles andbreak bulk cargo.

Kaare B. Isaksen, Senior VicePresident of Barber Blue Sea, said thenew ship is the first of ten combo classvessels being built for the company toreplace some of the present fleet. All ofthe new ships will be in service by theend of 1977.

The ships can accommodate unitizedcargo, containers, heavy lifts, rollingstock, refrigerated cargoes and bulkliquids in deep tanks.

The areas covered by Barber BlueSea are Singapore, Malyasia, In-donesia, Thailand, Philippines,Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan,East and West Canada, all three coastsof the United States, The Middle East,Panama and Venezuela. Barber-Biehl,Inc., is the Houston Agent.

Over 3,500 tons of coke was recently freighted "clean" to Venuzuela inDisposable Containers by the B.A.G. Corporation of Dallas. The cokewas shipped in 3500 woven polypropylene "bag" containers with an in-ner liner of polyethelene film to seal out moisture. The bags, eachholding 55 cubic feet, were stocked in triple tiers in the ship’s hold.
