Don Bosco used to say to his boys that it was easy to be a saint.

Dominic Savio and Laura Vicuña listened to him and practised it!

How can I get to heaven?

Dominic went to find Don Bosco:

‑ I need your help. I want to be a saint. Tell me what I must do!

Don Bosco smiled and said:

* You must be cheerful always.* Do your duty as best as you can.* Be a friend of Jesus.* Do not forget to help your companions and to enjoy your games.

When Laura received her First Communion she made these choices:

-First: to be a friend of Jesus always

- Second: to live as Jesus would like and with much love for others

- Third: to do all I can to make Jesus known and loved by all, especially by my mother, who is always very sad

This is life!

Dominic Savio at school in Turin:

Cared about playing with all the boys in his class

Made those who were sad happy and helped those who fought to make peace

Was a friend to all those who were lonely and did not have friends

Laura, at her school in Junín:

Cared about the poorest children in her school.

Knew how to give a helping hand to little children - helped them comb their hair, keep their rooms tidy and explain difficult lessons to them.

Cared much about her mother and wanted to see her happy. She obeyed her and helped her to be courageous.
