The City of Chula Vista is releasing the draft 2012-2013 proposed budget for public review and comment. The City has made great progress in climbing out of a huge budget hole caused by the recession and reduced property and sales taxes collected. The proposed budget maintains existing levels of core services and continues fiscal strategies that will help improve the City’s financial future. The final budget will be considered for adoption by the City Council in June.

Join City staff – for an overview of the proposed 2012-2013 budget – or visit us online to learn the latest and to provide your input. The final proposed budget will be presented at a City Council workshop on May 24.

Workshop Format The workshop will be conducted in an “Open House” format where participants can come at any time from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Staff will provide an overview presentation at 6 p.m. and will be available to answer questions and take input. Bilingual English/Spanish staff will be available.

La Ciudad de Chula Vista publicará el presupuesto preliminario del año fiscal 2012-2013 para revisión y comentarios del público. La Ciudad ha alcanzado grandes logros en mantener a flote el presupuesto que ha sido afectado por la recesión y por la disminución de ingresos de impuestos de propiedad y ventas. El presupuesto preliminario mantiene los niveles actuales de servicios básicos y conserva las estrategias fiscales que ayudarán a mejorar el futuro economico de la Ciudad. El Concejo Municipal considerara la adopción del presupuesto para el año fiscal 2012-2013 en junio.

Únase al personal de la Ciudad para un sobre paso general del presupuesto preliminario para el año fiscal 2012-2013 o visítenos por internet para aprender lo último y para dar su opinión. El presupuesto final será presentado en un taller ante el Concejo Municipal el día 24 de mayo del 2012.

Formato del Taller El taller publico se llevara a cabo al estilo “Open House.” Los representantes de la Ciudad harán una presentación a las 6 p.m. y estarán disponibles para responder a preguntas y aceptar sugerencias. Habrá representantes bilingües Inglés / Español disponibles según sea necesario.
