What: An exclusive tour of the Barilla pasta production plant in nearby Avon, NY. The Avon plant, located about 45 minutes south of Rochester, produces over 106,000 metric tons of pasta, including a variety of Whole Grain pastas, each year. That’s enough for over 650 million servings of pasta! The tour will run from 11am-2pm, and combine video and live elements to cover the entire pasta-making process from selecting and milling the wheat down to a finished product in a box ready for the grocery shelf. Chef Italo Besseghini will be on hand to prepare a delicious, healthy luncheon, answer questions and give tips for cooking pasta to get the best results.
