CAMP
Immanuel’s Music and Arts Camp Immanuel’s Music and Arts Camp is a weeklong day camp where faith and creativity connect in a God-centered environment. The camp’s mission is to offer children in our community the opportunity to partici-pate in a wide variety of visual and performing arts.
Daily schedule:
9 am – 3:15 pm
Closing Celebration for family and friends:
6:30 pm Friday, August 16
Campers in Lower, Middle and Upper Grades cus-tomize their camp experience by selecting the elec-tives they would like.* Each camper in these grades needs to select one elective from each of the pairings. Register early as electives can fill up.
Primary Grades do not sign up individually for electives as they will have shortened class times and participate in age-appropriate electives.
*IMAC reserves the right to change the breakdown of camper
groupings as necessary based on registration to ensure an
appropriate camper/teacher ratio.
Elective Courses
Core Curriculum
Art for All Each camper will create a shallow shadow box using shapes and small found objects to symbolize what they see as their hidden talents or gifts. We will use these boxes to assemble a monochromatic tower or wall of talent, taking inspiration from the work of artist Louise Nevelson. We will also talk about basic use of color and perspective as means to express thoughts and dreams.
Choir Time Did you know that when a group of people sing together their hearts begin to beat at the same rate? Singing is good for your body, mind and spirit! In choir, campers will learn fundamental choral music skills in a fun-filled way! Music selec-tions will reflect our theme of “You’ve Got This!” and will have you singing all the way home!

Drama in Action Acclaimed dancer and choreographer Alanna Morris-Van Tassel returns to guide campers in telling sto-ries through movement. This class will tap into the body’s ability to communicate without words and allow the children to uniquely express themselves. Campers will build on old skills or learn new ones and gain confidence in their bodies.
Japanese Weaving SAORI Weaving is a contemporary hand-weaving style from Japan. Chiaki O’Brien, expert teacher of SAORI, brought this unique form of weaving from her home in Japan to Minnesota. Express your crea-tivity and make beautiful art on easy-to-use looms. We will provide a variety of weaving materials to work with, but you can bring items from home (old T-shirts, yarn, etc.) to make it our own!
Group Uke This elective with returning artist Ben Abrahamson will have beginning and experienced players strum-ming and grooving to fun tunes. Discover the big sounds and moods you can create on this small instrument. Bring your own uke or use one of ours.
African Drumming Join a dynamic session of African drumming, singing and movement. Find unity in playing rhythms together that transcend culture and place, led by Brother Ghana, an expert in West African drumming and culture. Discipline and respect come naturally as we make music together.

Core Curriculum Daily Devo This world is full of wonderful opportunities to care for the Earth, to help other people, to show God’s goodness and love. But sometimes we don't know what to do. Sometimes we are afraid. Sometimes people say, “You’re too young” or “The problem is too big.” But ... YOU’VE GOT THIS! We’ll look at some folks in the Bible who were too young, or very afraid, or had no idea what they were doing, and how God gave them just what they needed. Then we’ll look at the gifts and talents God has given each of us.
Photography Do you love photography? Or maybe you’ve never tried photography and really want the chance to! In this course, we are going to have fun exploring many aspects of photography from how to take great pictures to using different types of cameras. Together we are going to learn how to tell stories though photography and other forms of multimedia!
