Learning Through ExperienceThinking of sending your children to an English Summer School? There is only one place to send them, London. And there is only one school to send them to. Ours. Why? We are accredited by the British Council. Our teachers make learning fun and get amazing results. We have over 10 years experience in teaching English and you simply wont get a better price.
We are based in a leafy suburban London neighbourhood within easy reach of the comfortable accommodation we provide. We offer both friendly host families and residential accommodation all a short journey from Central London by public transport.
Why Choose Us? The English Studio has over 10 years experience in teaching English. Accredited by the British Council, we offer a range of high-quality English courses at affordable rates. Learn English with us and well combine individual attention with expert tuition to provide a caring, supportive enviroment. We know youll enjoy studying with us.
Our ClassroomsAll your lessons will be at our West London Centre in Shepherds Bush. Youll find our classrooms are cool and comfortable. Shepherds Bush is a leafy and safe suburb which is only 20 minutes by underground from central London. The school itself is an easy 3 minute walk from Shepherds Bush Central Line underground station.
One of the great things about studying with us is that its really easy to get to the sights youve always wanted to see, while staying in a safe part of London. The British Museum, The London Eye, the Houses of Parliament, theyre all within reach. Want to walk? Shepherds Bush is a short and rather stylish stroll from arguably the trendiest spot in London, Notting Hill. You can also get some retail therapy at Westfield, Europes largest shopping centre. And the finishing touch? There is free internet! So keeping in touch with home doesnt cost you anything.
Our Residential AccommodationOur family-run, friendly residence is in a nice quiet area of Acton and has a separate block especially dedicated to our Young Learners. Stay here and youll be a 2 minute walk from Acton Town Underground Station which is on the Piccadilly and District lines, great for both Heathrow Airport and the centre of London. We have rooms to suit all tastes and budgets, from twins to triples, all clean and simply furnished with an en suite. The residence is only a short journey by public transport to the school. It has been checked to make sure it meets the strict standards set by The British Council.
Our HomestaysAll our Homestays are provided by our well respected British Council Accredited partners. They are all only a short ride by public transport from the school and are on average no more than a 30 minute journey by bus or underground.

Summer School July & AugustMorning English ClassesAt The English Studio, we concentrate on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Students will learn both spoken and written English which has a clear practical use. We give a weekly test to check what theyve learnt. The lessons are all specially designed for their age, with plenty of interesting resources and entertaining books for them to dive into.
Afternoon Activities What makes our Summer School different from all others is our amazing 7-days social programme. Students will visit the main tourist attractions in London. Parks, museums, galleries, Royal palaces and much much more! If they are staying with one of our lovely host families they will spend Sundays with them, learning more about our culture.
Study Time Every day before dinner students will complete a written project to take home with them as a record of their brilliant time in London. This way parents can share in their childs experience and see just how clever they are!
Evening Activities We organise a range of fun activities in the evenings, including visits to Central London, film nights and a quiz night, to get students to practise the language they are learning.
Excursions out of London Once a week students will enjoy a great day out to visit one of the following nearby cities: Oxford (city walk and picnic outside Christ Church College), Hampton Court (visit the castle and picnic in the gardens), Brighton (visit to the famous pier), Cambridge (city walk and shopping in market place).
Certificate At the end of the course, we hold a fun presentation day, where every student receives an attractive certificate showing how well theyve done.
Groups All Year RoundWe also organise programmes all year round for groups of young learners. We can take care of every aspect of the groups programme once they arrive in London - including airport transfers, accommodation and afternoon and evening activities - or we can provide just the English classes.

We are English and we are Green. Weve made sure this prospectus is printed on paper certified by the forestry Stewardship Council. That means its sourced from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations. Even better, the ink weve used is 100% vegetable-based, and its been printed by a locally-based co-operative committed to sustainability. Oh, and we insist our designers do their best to cycle to work.
How much English do I need to know to be able to apply to come on one of your courses? We need you to have an elementary level of English. We will send you an electronic placement test and you will know which class you will be in before you arrive.
How much should I bring to spend in London? I hear it is expensive! You need to allow around 1 per day for you daily ticket to travel around London. If you are attending our Young Learner Summer School then 30 will be enough for few treats.
What happens if there is an emergency? We have a trained first aid officer with the students while in class and during excursions. Risk assessments are carefully carried out according to the British Council guidelines. As well as a 24 hour emergency number, there will be a telephone number for your group leader in the welcome pack you will get once your place on the course has been confirmed. It also has the details of where you will be staying. Your parents will therefore have a number of ways to contact you in an emergency.
Emergency telephone number: +44(0)7973 823788
Will I have access to the internet? Yes, there are computers at the school for you to use. You can use them during your breaks to access the internet for free.
