YOUNG LONDON 2011-‐2014 V22’s Young London series has been an important one in its ambition and scope; it has made a major contribution, not only to the promotion and promulgation of London’s Fine Art zeitgeist, but also to its assessment and critique. This comprehensive catalogue presents the exhibitions, the artists and their work subsequent to the shows. Since 2011, Young London has presented some impressive young artists: Laure Prouvost has gone on to win the Turner Prize; Eddie Peake and Ed Atkins have become successful internationally; Sara Nunes Fernandes has collaborated in starting an independent art school; Lucy Clout has won Jerwood and FVU awards; Alice Channer was selected for the 55th International Art Exhibition at the Venice Biennale; several artists have gained representation by contemporary galleries and gone on to win awards and achieve growing acclaim. The Young London 2011-‐2014 catalogue provides a rare and intriguing insight into developing talents in the early stages of promising careers. Artists were nominated for the series by V22’s network of artists, Young London alumni, industry professionals, academics and young curators. The final selection of the artists featured in the Young London series was made by independent curator David Thorp (2012, 2013), artist and lecturer Conor Kelly (2012), curator Paul Pieroni (2013), artist Rebecca Warren (2013) and V22 Director Tara Cranswick. As part of the launch, Young London artists Benedict Drew, KERNEL, Dan Walwin, Jason Dungan, and Ciarán Ó Dochartaigh will present live performances and screenings. The launch for Young London 2011 – 2014 is on Saturday 29 November 2014 6 –9pm.
