A 24-YEAR-OLD design student from Mid-dlesex University, who created a unique bamboo mobile phone, has just moved his company’s offices into the infamous Google Campus after creating a worldwide buzz.

Final year product design and engineer-ing student, Kieron-Scott Woodhouse, has seen the phone he designed feature on more than 100 news websites and blogs across the globe, including the Daily Telegraph, The Times of India and the the Daily Mail.

Despite studying full-time, Kieron-Scott has been fulfilling his role as Chief Designer for his company, AD Creative and settling the organisation into the new Google Campus based in London’s Old Street, known as the hub for technology start-ups. The campus, powered by Google, will allow AD Creative to benefit from support, mentoring programmes and speaker and networking events.

The Middlesex student, from Shepherds

Bush, west London, said: “It’s so exciting to have moved into the Google campus. We’re surrounded by other pioneering new tech-nology companies so it’s a really innovative environment to be in. We’ve had such an in-credible reception since announcing our new phone.”

Kieron-Scott designed the mobile phone in his spare time after growing frustrated with the lack of variety in the mobile phone mar-ket. After posting his creations on forums and websites, he was contacted by a tech-nology entrepreneur who partnered with him to create a new company and phone.

The new smartphone called ADzero is made from four-year old organically grown bamboo and is currently in the midst of de-velopment.

SHE ROSE to prominence as the ‘First Lady’ of the UK garage collective, So Solid Crew, alongside members Megaman, Ashley Walters, MC Ro-meo and MC Harvey, to name a VERY

small few (there were more than 30 members in total).

Together, the male-heavy collective, who some hold responsible for changing the face of the UK underground music, stormed to the top of the charts in 2001 with 21 Seconds and went onto have subsequent hits with, They Don’t Know and Haters.

Although the popular south London group may have since disbanded, well, sort of, member, Lisa Maffia, isn’t done with adding to her list of firsts.

“I want to be able to say I’m responsible for the very first empire in the UK to dominate the music industry,” the singer tells me as she gears up for the release of her latest solo offering, Don’t Stop The Music.

“I don’t know how feasible it is, but with my

plans, my team and the artists that I’ve taken on, I’m sure we’re almost half way there,” she laughs.

The singer, who has just stepped off a plane from Barcelona as part of her annual summer tour when we catch up, is surprisingly upbeat de-spite her gruelling schedule.

Well, if one is managing a record label, running a successful booking agency, while juggling her own music career and the demands of being a mum, operating on little or no sleep is a breeze.

She laughs. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”“I think your business can be a multi-million

pound business as long as you’re organised. In anything you do, organisation is key. That’s how I manage on my own.”

She continues: “I’ve been managing my own record label, Maffia Recordz, for a while now. I’ve just signed Tyler Daley (who wrote and features on her latest track) and a girl called LV and a guy called Shotty Horroh.”

The Brixton-born star admits that Don’t Stop The Music, a catchy, dance-inspired track - with a baseline so hard it’ll shake your core - is just one of the promotional tools she will use to get her artists on the map.

She says that the addition of former So Solid member, MC Romeo, who had just returned from a successful stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house prior to the single’s release, was a matter of ‘great timing’.

“He sounds amazing on that track. He brought back the old school flavour, which was the main reason we chose him over other MCs we could

have got hold of,” she said.On his time in the CBB house, she commented:

“He did me proud. I was there every night in the freezing cold. I wanted to support him all the way. A lot of people probably thought that because he was a ‘pretty boy,’ he was arrogant, but no, he’s the complete opposite. He’s such a gentleman.”

MC Romeo, who she affec-tionately calls ‘Romey’ through-out the interview, is just one of the artists signed to the entre-preneur’s booking agency. She also manages bookings for fel-low So Solid stars Oxide & Neu-trino and Asher Walters.

Working so closely with for-mer band mates has surely got to spark talks of a reunion?

“We will never say no to the right record,” she tells me.

“The one thing about So Solid is that we don’t put out music just to put it out. I don’t see the point in putting out a record that we don’t fully be-lieve in or one just for the cur-rent market. There’s always a time for everything. Everyone is extremely busy. Ashley Walters is busy with films, Romeo has been in the Big Brother house, I’m running my record label, Megaman has created a few

new groups and is working hard on them. People always say, ‘it’s about time that you put some-thing out now.’ There will be that day. I don’t think we’re finished yet.”

Rapper Roscoe Dash voiced his disapproval at claims that rappers Drake and Meek Mill fought with Chris Brown in a US nightclub recently.

“I gotta say Lost alota respect for @drake & @meekmill out of all the ni**as who Dnt like yall

y’all chose to retaliate against @chrisbrown.”

Dear KatMy best friend just got a man and for some

reason I don’t like it. I do think he is cool and he always buys us both food when we’re together and gives her credit so she can call me, but I still don’t like him. Some of my girls said that I might fancy him, but I proper KNOW that I don’t. I don’t even want a boyfriend myself. I just want my friend back. He isn’t right for her and I make her happier. What should I do? Natalie P, Ladywell

Hi NataliePlease don’t take this the wrong way, but could there be a pos-sibility that you might be developing romantic feelings for your friend? I ask based on the last line in your letter where you say, ‘I can make her happier.’I’m not disputing that this may be a simple case of you just wanting your friend back, but question your motives when you say you don’t fancy him and don’t want to develop a relation-ship with a boy either.Sit down and ask yourself what it is about this boy and this situ-ation that you don’t like. Be honest with yourself. I believe the true answer will come to you then.Keep me updated on what’s happening and I’ll try stay in touch as well all the best in life & love.
