3 Days to Success Orientation is a three-day process designed to educate, encourage and inspire you as you embark on your academic

journey. Our main objective is to provide you not only with the necessary tools to facilitate a smooth transition into

college life, but also to assist you in exploring varied opportunities as you prepare for your future. A description of

Then join the rest of the incoming students for Pride Day and All Pride’s Day!

Day 2– Pride Day Wednesday, August 16th, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. During Day 2, you will become a part of a campus tradition: Orientation Prides. Led by our New Student Orientation Leaders, all new students will be assigned to a pride group. Student leaders direct the Prides in small group exercises designed to increase interpersonal communication skills. In addition, a faculty-led discussion on this year’s summer reading book Weaponized Lies: How to Think Critically in the Post-Truth Era will be held. You will also attend interactive workshops conducted by faculty and professional staff to learn about academic procedures, electronic resources, and more.

Day 3– All Pride’s Day Thursday, August 17th, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. During All Pride’s Day you will have the oppor-tunity to meet many of your fellow classmates and attend college meetings, academic con-vocation, and be formally welcomed to Penn State. In addition, you will listen to motivational keynote speaker, Matt Glowacki. Mr. Glowacki will share his inspiring story and motivation towards success. You will also receive your Pride t-shirt and have the oppor-tunity to participate in the Pride Olympics!

Adult learners and other new students transferring into or taking classes at Penn State are invited to attend a special academic advising day via the New Student Orientation registration process. During this program you will meet with an academic advisor to discuss classes and your chosen major. This is also your best opportunity to meet other currently enrolled new transfer stu-dents to discuss important issues such as academic success, child care, learning to study, and how to juggle student responsibil-ities. A brief tour of the campus is part of the program, so bring your class schedule to familiarize yourself with the classroom buildings. Newly registered part-time and full-time students are strongly urged to attend. In addition, all new students will be in-vited to attend Pride Day and All Prides Day special campus orientation program in August. For more information call the orienta-tion hotline at 724-334-6062 or email [email protected].
