OUR MISSION
Based in Northern Illinois, Clearbrook was founded in 1955 and has since evolved into a recognized leader in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities. Today, Clearbrook
creates innovative opportunities for over 8,000+ children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities including autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy—as well as their families.
Clearbrook provides personalized children’s, adult day, employment, residential and clinical services at more than 60 locations throughout the Chicagoland-area. In addition, Clearbrook is the largest provider of home-based services in the state of Illinois. Clearbrook employs nearly 1,000 people and proudly reports that 92 percent of every dollar raised goes directly into programs and services.
By giving to Clearbrook, you’re making a positive and immediate impact in the lives of those with disabilities, as well as supporting a local nonprofit organization whose reputation for quality programming and care has been built over more than six decades.
For more information about our work, our clients and our current priorities, please visit www.clearbrook.org.
Clearbrook is committed to being a leader in creating innovative opportunities, services and supports to people with disabilities.

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT & CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARDThank you for investing in our clients.
Please know, your support of Clearbrook is more than a gift of time or money. It’s the gift of opportunity. It’s an investment in the quality of life and quality of programs for children and adults with disabilities. It’s a new home, a communication tool, someone’s first job or a first trip to the Special Olympics.
Philanthropy is what enables Clearbrook to remain a leader in providing innovation to a population that is often times over-looked. It’s a sign of support for the group homes, care facilities, therapeutic day programs and resources made available to families impacted by developmental delays and disabilities.
It takes working alongside the individuals, companies, corporate partners and volunteers highlighted in the pages of this annual report to truly make a difference. We couldn’t do it without you.
Your generosity empowers our clients.

We are proud of our ratios! There are a few generally accepted ratios that are used to evaluate the financial statement of a non-profit organization. According to the standard recommended by the American Institute of Philanthropy, at least 60% of total expenses should be spent on programs and no more than 40% on administration and fundraising. Clearbrook greatly exceeds this recommendation with 92% of every donation going directly to our programs and services.

WAYS TO GIVEThanks to the generosity of others, Clearbrook programming and services are offered in more group homes, private homes, day programs and communities statewide, than ever before. There are many ways to support Clearbrook and our clients:
Visit us for a tour. Call 847.870.7711 to schedule.
Support Clearbrook with a financial contribution. Unrestricted gifts of any amount are welcome and greatly appreciated. Consider giving online via our safe and secure site: www.clearbrook.org/donate
Become a sponsor of Clearbrook special events, including the Shining Star Ball, First Look for Charity at the Chicago Auto Show, golf outings, client FunFest, food tastings, wine tastings and others! Contact Don Marquis at [email protected] to learn more.
Consider a matching gift. Corporate matching gift programs can double your donation and double your impact. Check with your employer for specific matching gift program details.
Volunteer. Time and talent are priceless gifts to Clearbrook. There are many opportunities to get involved – from participating in special events to assisting in direct client care. Our volunteer hotline can be reached at 847.870.7748.
Build a legacy for yourself or a loved one by making a bequest; a gift made by naming Clearbrook in your will. This is both a simple and popular method for remembering Clearbrook in perpetuity. Please contact 847.385.5014 or [email protected] for more details.
Transfer stock. Gifts of stock are easily transferable. Please contact our Business Office at 847.385.5004 for further information on how to arrange a wire transfer.
THANK YOU!To learn more about these, or other more personalized giving options, please contact Clearbrook’s Communications & Event Planning Department at 847.385.5005 or [email protected].
