Gift - a special ability or capacity; natural endowment; talent
Everyone has a distinctive gift -- something that is "you" and needed by those around you.
It's much more than a skill -- it is a deep-rooted strength powered by your deepest passions, and developed by an unwavering sense of purpose.

What did you love to do as a child?◦ Not influenced by your peers or fears◦ What was the most fun?◦ What created your best memories?
What areas do others ask for your help?◦ Others often see your gifts with more clarity than
you do◦ Close relatives and friends will easily pinpoint
your strengths when they need your assistance in certain areas

What activity do you most enjoy during your day?◦ What do you do that causes you to lose track of time?◦ You forget to eat, sleep, or to look at the clock
What do you think about when your head hits the pillow at night?◦ Your dreams give insight into your gifts
What are you good at doing?◦ Most people have a hard time identifying their
strengths because it is something we do everyday and it’s not “spectacular” enough

Experience - something personally encountered, undergone, or lived through
Life experiences can be applied to our jobs, businesses, and community service◦ “Knowledge gained through experience is far
superior and many times more useful than bookish knowledge.” Mahatma Gandhi

“Life is a series of experiences, each one of which makes us bigger, even though sometimes it is hard
to realize this. For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setbacks
and grieves which we endure help us in our marching onward.”
Henry Ford – founder of the Ford Motor Company
“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without
fear for newer and richer experience.” Eleanor Roosevelt

Negative thinking creates clouds at critical decision times
Negative thinking blows everything out of proportion◦ Murphy’s Law states “Nothing is as easy as it looks;
everything takes longer than you expect; and if anything can go wrong, it will and at the worst possible moment.”
◦ Maxwell’s Law states “Nothing is as hard as it looks; everything is more rewarding than you expect; and if anything can go right, it will and at the best possible moment.”
