WHAT’S HAPPENINGA HEADS UP ON

We’re making some great new improvements to your ANZ Travel Card.

These changes will include a better website experience, the removal of the Reload and AUD Currency Fees, and a new way of purchasing that uses up the currency of the transaction first before any others.

In order to make these changes happen, your ANZ Travel Card and online account will be unavailable from 18 February 2018 (AEDT) for a period of up to 8 hours.

This brochure highlights the key changes to the ANZ Travel Card, however there are other changes. All changes are encompassed in the new ANZ Travel Card Product Disclosure Statement (PDS). The new PDS will be available online from 8 January 2018 (AEDT) at anz.com. A list of the clauses that will change in the PDS is contained in a flyer with this brochure.

YOUR CARD AND ACCOUNT WILL BE OFFLINE FOR UP TO 8 HOURS

Overnight from 18-19 February 2018 (AEDT), anz.com/travelcard will be unavailable for use for up to 8 hours. This also means your ANZ Travel Card will be out of action, so please make sure you withdraw enough cash and make any purchases in advance to avoid being caught short abroad.

What does this mean for you? While the upgrades are taking place you will be unable to use your ANZ Travel Card. For example, you will be unable to:

• Make purchases • Withdraw any cash • Access your online account • Check your balance

For an exact outage time, check anz.com/travelcard or our Facebook and Twitter pages closer to the date.

WHAT’S CHANGING

ACCESS A NEW AND IMPROVED WEBSITE EXPERIENCE

We’re updating anz.com/travelcard to make it easier to use. So when you log in from 19 February 2018 (AEDT), you’ll use a more intuitive online account.

RESET YOUR PASSWORD

When you log in for the first time from 19 February 2018 (AEDT), you’ll be prompted to change your password. Your username will remain the same.

CHANGES TO SMS ACTIVITY ALERTS:

From 19 February 2018 (AEDT), to obtain your Stored Value balance by SMS, you will need to use the last six digits of your card number (previously it was the last four digits). You will no longer be able to use SMS to check your last five transactions. The Activity Alerts Fee will be charged in AUD only (AUD 0.35).

WHAT WE’VE REMOVED

From 19 February 2018 (AEDT):

O No AUD Currency Fee. This is currently a fee which is charged whenever you use AUD currency to make a purchase on your card, except when you transfer Value from your Australian Dollar Stored Value to another Stored Value Currency.

O No Card Issuance Fee. This is currently an $11 Fee that is payable when you purchase a Travel Card.

O No Reload Fee. You will be able to reload your card as often as you like without being charged the 1.1% fee that currently applies to every reload.

WHAT’S NEW

From 19 February 2018 (AEDT):

4% Unsupported Currency Fee.1 This will be applied each time you make a purchase or ATM withdrawal in a currency that is not one of the following ten currencies that are currently available on the card:

FEE CHANGES

We’re also changing the way purchases and ATM withdrawals are debited from your card. So it’s now even easier to use your ANZ Travel Card abroad. Please refer to the scenario below which explains the changes.

WHAT’S STAYING THE SAME

Your ANZ Travel Card will still look to use the currency of the transaction first. So if you make a purchase in the UK, your ANZ Travel Card will look for Pounds first – even if you have other currencies loaded. What it won’t do is move to the next currency to fund the entire cost of the purchase if there aren’t enough funds in the currency of the transaction, as it does now. See the example for more details.

WHAT’S CHANGING

To fund a transaction, your card will now draw currencies from each loaded wallet based on the Stored Value Currency Order.2 Rather than only using the wallet that contains enough money to cover the full amount, it will now combine the wallets taking what it can from the wallet of the transaction and filling the remainder of the transaction from the next wallet, based on the Stored Value Currency Order.

OTHER THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

A TYPICAL TRAVEL SCENARIO

You have £50 and €100 on your ANZ Travel Card and you’d like to buy three tickets on the London Eye for £70.

£50 ¤100

WHAT HAPPENS NOW

WHAT WILL HAPPEN FROM 19 FEBRUARY 2018 (AEDT)

As there aren’t enough Pounds to cover the entire amount, it leaves the Pounds and moves to the wallet that contains enough funds to pay for the whole purchase.

Even though there aren’t enough Pounds in your wallet to cover the entire amount, it still uses the currrency of the transaction first, taking the £50 from your Pounds wallet.

This leaves £50 in your Pounds wallet and approximately €203 in your Euro wallet, you may have wanted the transaction to use up the £50 first so that you had more Euros for later on your trip.

This leaves £0 in the Pounds wallet and approximately €753 in your Euro wallet. This means that when you move on to your Euro countries, you’re not left with Pounds in your wallet that need to be converted to Euros each time you spend.

In this case, because there’s €100 in your Euro wallet this account would be used to fund the entire purchase.

The remaining funds needed to complete your purchase (approximately €25) are then taken from your Euro wallet.

1. An Electronic Transaction (including any applicable ATM fees) made in a currency that is not a Stored Value Currency will be converted to AUD by Visa in accordance with its rules using the wholesale market rate selected by Visa from a range of wholesale rates one day before Visa processes the Electronic Transaction. If there are insufficient funds in the AUD Stored Value then the remaining balance of the Electronic Transaction will be paid by debiting the Stored Value from the other Stored Value Currency or Stored Value Currencies according to the Stored Value Currency Order. Therefore you may be subject to a number of exchange rate conversions (depending on how many Stored Value Currencies are required to have their Value transferred to process the Transaction). The conversion rate used will be that which is notified on ANZ’s website at anz.com as being the rate at which ANZ buys Travel Cards in the relevant Stored Value Currency.2. From 19 February 2018 (AEDT) the Stored Value Currency Order is Australian Dollars (AUD), United States Dollars (USD), Great British Pounds (GBP), Euros (Eur), New Zealand Dollars (NZD), Canadian Dollars (CAD), Hong Kong Dollars (HKD), Singapore Dollars (SGD), Thai Baht (THB), Japanese Yen (JPN). 3. The examples are for illustrative purposes only and should not be relied upon. Depending on the scenario, fees and charges may be applicable to the transaction. If you do not have sufficient Stored Value in that currency to process the Transaction (including all applicable fees) in full but have the remaining Stored Value in another Stored Value Currency or Stored Value Currencies to do so, the Card will fulfil the Transaction (including all applicable fees) by debiting the value from the other Stored Value Currencies according to the Stored Value Currency Order. Therefore you may be subject to a number of exchange rate conversions (depending on how many Stored Value Currencies are required to have their Value debited in order to process the Transaction (including all applicable fees)). If the transaction does not involve the AUD Stored Value Currency, the conversion rate used will be the AUD cross rate between the Stored Value Currency of the Transaction and the Stored Value Currency or Stored Value Currencies that are being debited to complete the Transaction (including all applicable fees). If the transaction involves AUD then the conversion rate is that which is notified on ANZ’s website at anz.com as being the rate at which ANZ buys (when funds are being transferred into the AUD Stored Value Currency) or sells (when funds from the AUD Stored Value Currency are being transferred to another Stored Value Currency) Travel Cards in the relevant Stored Value Currency.4. The maximum initial purchase of Value amounts may differ depending on how the Card is purchased. Please refer to anz.com or anz.com/travelcard for further information.5. Subject to the maximum amount of Stored Value that may be loaded on your Card. ATM merchants may also impose additional limits that restrict the maximum or minimum Value that you can withdraw in any one transaction.6. The conversion rate is that which is notified on ANZ’s website at anz.com as being the rate at which ANZ buys Travel Cards in the relevant Stored Value Currency in which the Value is being transferred.7. For further details about your current Stored Value Currency Order please refer to Clause 14 of the current ANZ Travel Card (Multicurrency) Product Disclosure Statement which can be found by visiting anz.com.This material does not take into account your personal needs and financial circumstances and you should consider whether it is appropriate for you.
