In hare or tortoise fill mode, the pump will run until the transducer reads pressure. It will then stop and wait for manual input.

In pressure test mode, the pump will run at max speed with full strokes until a gain-pressure point has been reached (approximately 50% of max working pressure or setpoint). Next, it will run partial strokes (pulsed output) until max pressure is reached. This allows the pressure to increase to the setpoint without overshooting.

The set point of that gain-pressure can be defined on the controller. It drives the pump accordingly depending on the downstream volume (small or large) against the speed to reaching the desired pressure. This gain setting (Gain 1-5) defines the motor output and pressure point as where the controller needs to slow down to not overshoot the mark. If you are not reaching pressure quick enough or the pump won’t hit your desired stall pressure, simply increase the gain on the controller. If you are reaching pressure quickly and overshooting the setpoint, simply reduce the gain on the controller.
