Examples of Housing Opportunity Grants
• Santa Fe (NM) Association of REALTORS - $5,000 grant produced report “Affordable Housing in Santa Fe”
• Fox Valley and Main Street associations (IL) – “Experience Aurora” - $4,000 grant for expo and trolley tour to highlight available homes
Examples of Diversity Grants
• Texas Association of REALTORS - Used a $5,000 Diversity Grant to hold a joint summit on affordable housing with the Texas chapters of the National Assn. of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals
• Austin Board of REALTORS - Used $5,000 Diversity Grant to hold a two-day joint conference with local chapter of NAREB on “State of Housing in Black America.”
Examples of Smart Growth Grants
• Greater Rochester (NY) AOR – Used a $15,000 NAR grant to support a community design workshop for the village of Lima, NY, partnering with the Citizen's Institute on Rural Design.
• Austin Board of REALTORS - Used a $15,000 grant to co-sponsor a multi-day workshop to create a master plan for the South Central Waterfront Area, a 97-acre downtown site.
Examples of Placemaking Micro-Grants
• Northern Kentucky AOR - received $1,800 to provide park benches for a walking trail.
• Merrymeeting (ME) BOR - $2,200 to support an outdoor reading room and garden at downtown library.
