Winter 2011

Your memories...your way!

Photos are the star...

All about the creativity... Fast and easy, but so cute...

Lots of embellishments and details...

This is the year…make your scrapbooking goals a reality!

Now that the relatives have gone home, the Christmas tree is down, and the gifts and decorations are put away, it’s time to start thinking about 2011 and your goals for the coming year. One important goal that should be on the top of everyone’s list is to finally start doing something with your photos and memories, and start scrapbooking. Or, if you’ve taken a break, start back up again. Why? Because your photos and memories are far too important to be tucked away in a box somewhere. Instead, create a scrapbook and enjoy those memories every day!

Scrapbooking connects your photos with the memories behind them. A random stack of photos or a folder of photos on your computer doesn’t tell the whole story like turning the pages of a beautiful scrapbook does! With each page, you, your family, even future generations can look at the photos and read the stories or details behind them. Relive that memorable trip to the beach, even if it’s the middle of winter. Remember your child’s first day of school, even after he’s all grown up. Reminisce about your daughter’s dance recitals, even if it’s been years since she last put on those ballet slippers. It only takes a little bit of time and a few supplies to create an album that will be loved and cherished for years to come, and most impor-tantly, your memories will never, ever be forgotten.

Scrapbooking means something different to everyone and there isn’t a “right” or “wrong” way to do it. Some may want an elaborate scrapbook to show off to family and friends, while others may want something that’s faster to put together but still tells the story. We’ve talked to many customers over the years and have noticed four common goals when it comes to scrapbooking: Make it simple, make it fast and easy, make an embellished scrapbook, and make a creative masterpiece.

Maybe you identify with one of these goals, or maybe you have a combination of a few of them. No matter what your goal is, this newsletter has the right products and helpful advice to help you meet it. With Archiver’s help, preserving your memories is a New Year’s resolution you can definitely stick to!

There’s no better time than now, so turn the page and get started. You’ll be so glad you did!

Make it simple!

Goal: Make the photos the star!• Display and showcase favorite photos in a way that really emphasizes them• Make my photos be the star of my scrapbook • Find an easy way to keep photos safe and organized

Start enjoying your photos! If you want to do something with your photos other than stare at them from a computer screen or flip through a pile of random snapshots, you’ve come to the right place. A scrapbook is an excellent way to display your prized photos and preserve them at the same time. By choosing a simple page design, your photos will really stand out and nothing will detract from their beauty. Simple pages are typically faster and easier to create than more complicated pages as well.

Keep your photos secure with the Picture Keeper! Plug it into any computer (PC or Mac) and it automatically finds and saves every photo on that computer, with no soft-ware to install. Available in several sizes, the Pro size holds up to 250,000 photos.* *Based on average picture size of 1MB

Store up to 48 disks in a handy Pioneer Cd binder. Burn copies of your photos to CDs or DVDs so you’ll always have a back-up in case disaster strikes.

Store your prints in Archiver’s acid-free, archival envelopes instead of the envelopes you received from your photo developer—they aren’t meant for long-term storage and can, in fact, harm your photos over time.

Archiver’s has products and ideas to showcase your photos, as well as smart solutions to keep them organized. Here are a few:

Paper is the building block for every scrapbook page. Archiver’s has lots of high-quality paper to showcase your photos—everything from cardstock in every color of the rainbow to patterned paper in nearly any design you can imagine.

Every scrapbooker needs a paper trimmer for straight, clean cutting of paper and photos. Invest in a quality trimmer that will stand up to constant use. Archiver’s has lots of trim-mers, such as this Tonic 12” guillotine style.

Sticker or rub-on letters are great for fast, easy page titles—just stick or rub them on. Or, for a little more dimension, choose self-adhesive American Crafts Thickers, available in lots of varieties like chipboard, foam, vinyl, and more.

Always use acid-free adhesive (such as Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L photo squares or 3M Scotch dot roller) in your scrapbooks. Acid is your photos’ worst enemy—over time, it will cause them to deteriorate. Newspaper and other memorabilia may not be acid-free, so spray them with Archival Mist before putting them in your albums.

Store your photo envelopes, loose pictures, and other memorabilia in Archiver’s Keepsafe archival boxes. Available in several sizes and colors, they’re acid-free and will protect your memories from deterioration.

Archiver’s color copierA great resource for any photo enthusiast is Archiver’s in-store, archival color copier. Make copies of heritage photos, fragile memorabilia, completed pages for multiple scrapbooks, and more in just seconds. Copies are printed using archival-quality paper and inks, meaning they won’t fade over time like copies from regular copy machines. In fact, when placed side-by-side, it’s hard to tell which is the copy and which is the original photo! Plus, you can enlarge, reduce, and even change photos to black and white or sepia, too.

Goal: Make it fast and easy!• Create scrapbook pages, but in a faster way • Want to be creative, but want it to be easy, too• Spend less time shopping and more time scrapbooking

Archiver’s theme baysArchiver’s theme bays make shopping for scrapbooking supplies easier! Organizing product by theme helps you find what you’re looking for, faster—no more hopelessly searching aisle-after-aisle trying to find what you need. Looking for papers for a baby scrapbook? Go to the “baby” theme bay and you’ll find all sorts of papers and embellishments that will work. Making a vacation album? Check out the “travel” section. There are 15 different theme bays, such as wedding, school, sports, travel, baby, and more.

If you are interested in scrapbooking, but think it takes too much time, we’ve got a secret for you—it doesn’t have to! Time is precious and between jobs, kids, activities, pets, errands, and more, sometimes there isn’t a lot of it to spare. That doesn’t mean that preserving your memories has to take a back seat, though. There are plenty of ways to preserve your photos and memories that don’t have to take hours and hours to do.

We R Memory Keepers binders are high-quality and come in lots of great colors. Pair them with pocket pages (in many styles to fit various photo sizes) or traditional scrapbook pages.

For a faster and easier way to scrapbook lots of photos, try We R Memory Keepers pocket pages. Slide your photos and journaling into the pockets and you’re done, or jazz them up more with embellishments. Several styles are available to fit multiple photo sizes (like 4x6, 5x7, and more). Mix and match to fit your photos!

For fast, easy page titles, turn to Jolee’s and Karen Foster design self-adhesive embellishments. Available in lots of fun styles, each title looks like it took hours to create, but all you had to do was stick it on the page.

Get the supplies to make a bunch of pages, all inside one kit! Page kits contain the paper and embellishments (and sometimes instructions, too) you need to make several pages. Plus, you can add cardstock to stretch the kit con-tents even further. Archiver’s has kits in nearly any theme you can think of!

Simple Stories kits are designed to perfectly fit We R Memory Keepers pocket pages. Cut apart the pieces, slide them in the pockets, add your photos, and your scrapbook is done. Or, take it to the next level by embellishing with stickers, patterned papers, and transparency overlays, also inside the kit. Two styles are available—check them out!

KI Memories calendar paper and month stickers are a fun way to scrapbook your memories, quickly. Choose a calendar paper for each month and write in your activities and special occasions, embellish with stickers, and include the corresponding photos in pocket pages. Make a page for each month and in no time, you’ll have a year of memories in your scrapbook!

Archiver’s has lots of shortcuts, products, and tips to help you fit scrapbooking into your busy life! here are a few:
