Stanford University TILLY GRIFFITHS JADA HALLMAN ALICIA PURPUR Email the Peer Advisors at: [email protected] TILLY GRIFFITHS, Class of 2022, is an international student from the United Kingdom pursuing a double major in Communication and Political Science. Within the COMM department she has explored a range of classes that focus primarily on journalism and political communication, and both of these pathways have shaped the opportunities and internships she has engaged with during her time at Stanford. On campus, she writes as an opinion columnist for The Stanford Daily and serves as the ASSU Director of Disability Advocacy, and in the summer of 2021 she will intern at The Walt Disney Company in corporate social responsibility. Finally, she is excited to be your peer advisor and talk all things COMM! JADA HALLMAN, class of 2023, is from Tracy, CA, and is majoring in Communication. Her passions lie at the intersection of computer-mediated communication, education, and students' emotional wellbeing. While living off-campus during the pandemic, Jada worked as an Editorial Intern at the San Joaquin County Office of Education, engaging with educational administration and public relations firsthand. She is also thrilled to spend summer 2021 as a Marketing and Development Intern for Heyday Publishing, a non-profit independent publisher in collaboration with Stanford's Bill Lane Center for the American West. Jada is so excited to be a peer advisor for the Communication Department and can't wait to share her love of the department with other students! ALICIA PURPUR, Class of 2023, is from Palo Alto, CA, so the Stanford campus has always been her home. She’s interested in how emerging technologies impact personal well-being, interpersonal relationships, and society at large. Alicia is majoring in Communication, coterming in Media Studies, and plans on graduating with both degrees within four years. She works in Stanford’s Social Media Lab as a research assistant and wants to encourage students to explore research even if they are nervous or have never participated in a lab before.
