Can I use extension cables with the Powerline Adapter? You should always plug the Powerline Adapter directly into the mains socket. Any extension cables should then be plugged into the Powerline device, rather than the other way around.

Can’t get connected? If your Powerline Adapters cannot create a network connection (solid light on the LED will be on if a network connection is made) try these simple steps:

1) It may be that the Powerline Adapters have been plugged into a different mains ring. To test this, try plugging the Adapters into sockets within the same room.

2) It may be that the Adapters have got different encryption keys set. With both devices plugged in and switched on, press the Security Button on one device for between 2 and 3 seconds. The Adapter will create a private, randomly generated encryption key that each Powerline network Adapter will use. The Power LED will start blinking after you release the button.

Within 2 minutes press the security button on the second Powerline Adapter for between 2 and 3 seconds. This will initiate an exchange of encryption keys with all devices found.

Note: Both Security buttons must be pressed within two minutes.

3) If step 2 doesn’t work, then with both devices plugged in and switched on, press the Reset button (using a pin) on each device for 1 second. Then repeat step 2.
