Stop Making Excuses – Here’s Your Simple B2B Blogging Roadmap I’m tired of hearing excuses from my clients that say they don’t have time to blog. Even without MarketingWise’s content marketing support, blogging shouldn’t take up too much time. And if you streamline the process, you will realize the impact in no time. It’s all neatly laid out in the infographic below, but for the benefit of those people who want more detail, here are the 8 steps that comprise: Your Simple B2B Blogging Roadmap 1. Brainstorm Think about all of those frustrations you hear form your target customers that begin with: How can I…? Why can I can never seem to…? I really hate it when…! It costs us so much when…! 2. Compile a list Create a list of responses to those pain points identified in #1 and voila – your list of B2B blogging topics. 3. Create your editorial calendar Take those topics and map them out on an editorial calendar over a period of 3-6 months, taking into consideration sales cycles and seasonal needs. 4. Write, upload and format the posts You can do it on your own, or you can outsource to a company like MarketingWise. Regardless, you want the post to reflect your corporate voice, so at a minimum, you should be putting together a list of bulleted points, in your own words, and talking it through with your writer. 5. Publish your posts at the right time of day There are many opinions about what time of day is best. I like first thing Monday morning. 6. Share your posts on social media platforms Pretty straightforward stuff. 7. Interact with Friends, Followers and Fans It’s all about building relationships via content. This is your opportunity. 8. Track your analytics Here is your ROI indicator. If you aren’t measuring, you can’t make meaningful and strategic changes. Once you have completed these steps, start again. And keep going. For at least three months. Then let me know how it’s working for you.
