Sublimation, Blanks, Decoration

What is Sublimation? In our industry, dye sublimation refers to the process of transferring the dye (or ink) from one medium, such as paper, to another medium, such as ceramic. This is done by printing an image with sublimation ink, placing the printout on your product, then heating the products to transfer the ink.

What do I need to begin producing customized products?

Will any ceramic or metal product work with sublimation?

No. Our sublimation products all have a special coating that is unique to our company. When the ink on the transfer paper is heated to a specific temperature it will begin to evaporate from the paper and stick onto the coating. Without the coating, the ink will not adhere to the substrate.

Are your products dishwasher safe?

Products that use our specially engineered Orca™ coating are considered dishwasher and microwave safe unless the drinkware or product is constructed of metal.Look for Orca® in the product name and the Orca Coatings® logo on the product!

Pre-production ApprovalOnce you decide to move forward with our services, we will receive from you a properly formatted image with which we will create a pre-production sample. Production will begin after you approve the sample.

Imprint ProductionProduction will begin after the pre-production sample is approved. Our normal turnaround time after the pre-production sample is approved is roughly 1-2 weeks. Rush order services are available for a minimal fee.

File SpecificationsPlease note the imprint area for the product to be produced (under Specifications on each product page on www.photomugs.com).

• We have state-of-the-art design facilities and currently accept all file formats. We prefer to have the original image, if possible.• Application files (with layers) to be supplied if we need to make modifications to the image.• Common file formats supported – EPS, PSD, PDF, AI, CDR, TIF, JPG• Photographic images should at least 300 dpi at the final size to be printed.
