SecretS to Finding

ikini season is here! Finding the perfect swimsuit doesn’t have to be daunting or depressing. Below

are some insider secrets from the swimwear experts at all-wetbeachwear.com that will help make your shopping expe-rience this year fun and easy.

HigHligHt your assetsDon’t obsess about the features of your body that you want to change, instead draw the attention to your most attractive assets. Ruffles, beading, bright colors and attractive prints will all catch and hold the eye, so use them strategically. Wearing an embellished top with a dark colored bottom will focus eyes on your bust. A one-piece suit with a deep ‘V’ neckline will keep the attention on the top half of your body instead of the bottom. Conversely, a high cut leg, ruffles or side ties on a bikini bottom will focus the eyes on the tummy, hips and thighs.

Keep up witH trendsFit is the most important factor in choosing a swimsuit, but trends also come into play. Read up on the latest styles and fashion trends in blogs and magazines. A hot, on-trend swim-suit can really turn heads. Big trends for Spring 2011 include fringe, sophisticated tie-dye prints, sultry neutral shades and bright tropical prints.

dare to bare!Don’t be afraid to bare a little skin. Swaddling yourself in layers of Lycra adds visual weight to your silhouette and ob-

scures your natural shape. Dare to try a one-piece or bikini that is a little smaller than you typically wear. It may feel a little mischievous at first but you will soon get used to it. If you have a nice shape, a minimal coverage bikini bottom will look more fashionable and more appealing.

sHop onlineIf you shop for swimwear online, you can try on your swim-suits in the comfort of your own home and avoid the harsh dressing room lighting. You can also enlist feedback from your friends and family, your most honest advisors.

Have fun!Nurture your confidence. Ultimately, we look our best when we feel our best. Find a swimsuit that you feel comfortable in and wear it with confidence. We are often our own worst critics, so make a conscious effort to be nice to yourself. Your friends on the beach are not going to notice that bulge or this stretch mark, so why let it make you miserable? Feel beautiful, because you are!

Shopping for swimwear should remind us that we will soon be relaxing on the sand or soaking up the sun by the pool, so why stress? There are over 200 styles of swimwear at All Wet Beachwear. Browse the collection and find your favor-ite.

little lady standing no more than five feet tall, Michelle McKay has an air of grace around her that is captivating to anyone she comes across.

A firm believer in God, she attributes all her success to Him, preferring to lead a simple life. Out of this simplicity came Ital Blends, a line of organic body care products. Through research and trial and error, Michelle got her formulas just right and the gifts she made for friends and family earned rave reviews.

Sensing she was on the right path, she bid farewell to corpo-rate Jamaica to fill in the missing pieces of the puzzle of her life. One of the chief ingredients in Michelle’s hand-crafted soaps is goat’s milk, which always garners strange expres-sions. She recalls an occasion when a man asked if he would smell like a goat after using her products. “The small mol-ecules in goat’s milk are a great source of Vitamin A, miner-als and zinc, perfect to help diminish dark spots, make the skin appears smoother and even to retain its moisture,” she explained.

Other products in the Ital Blends line are body lotions, body shampoos, a rejuvenating body polish, shampoo and con-ditioner, body mist, bath and body oils and, most recently, a lip balm. These products are all made at her home in the cool hills of Irish Town, which she credits for most of her inspiration.

“for me, it is not just a bar of soap, it’s an experience. ital blends tells a story, so even if that cuts into my profit margin to maintain my quality, i’m willing to sacrifice that.”

Michelle runs a seamless and timely operation process that also carries forward into her personal life as she believes time-lines are crucial. “We have to be creative because we work in a small space, so again, proper planning [is necessary]. We have our schedule where we make soaps and only soaps for that week and then we move on to lotions. The area is very small, so we have to try and work systematically.”

Michelle also emphasized how proud she is of her team and their accomplishments thus far. “We have had challenges; the money ran out before I could get to develop myself prop-erly because business came slower than I thought and, as a result, I ended up leaving out marketing out of my plan,” she stated. Consequently, she had to get creative to promote Ital Blends.

“Because it is such a niche market product, the spread for Jamaica is really, really small and in order for me not to lose sight of the vision that I have for Ital Blends, I don’t put it everywhere,” she said. Though she has not had a consistent salary, she will never comprise her vision just to make money. “For me, it is not just a bar of soap, it’s an experience. Ital Blends tells a story, so even if that cuts into my profit margin to maintain my quality, I’m willing to sacrifice that.”

Financial constraints have always been a challenge for entre-preneurs, but Michelle has been able to get over that hurdle with help from her family. She also credits the Private Sec-tor Development Programme (PSDP) as a “saviour” to many small businesses, including hers. Despite the hardships, she stressed how bless she is and believes that Ital Blends will grow into an even bigger success.

hen our hair looks good, we feel good. Therefore, our hair deserves the very best care we can give it. A weekly shampoo and conditioner

routine is great, but is not enough to keep your hair in mint condition. Vita-mins can do wonders for your tresses. Although most shampoos and condi-tioners contain vitamins, the best way to give your hair this boost is through oral supplements. Check out these nutrients that your hair may benefit from to keep it looking healthy:

antioxidantsAntioxidants like vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E, are the main line of defense against harmful elements found in the atmosphere that damage the body cells. These vitamins can be obtained naturally from sources such as fruits, vegetables, dairy products and nuts. You can also ensure that you ob-tain the required amount via a daily supplement. These nutrients will help to build healthy strands while stimulating better scalp circulation. They will aid in the fight against free radicals, which are linked to ailments like cancer and heart disease. For best results, make sure that you are getting 5000 IU daily of vitamin A, 60 mg. of vitamin C and up to 400 IU of vitamin E. biotinBiotin produces keratin, the protein found in hair, skin and nails. Along with strengthening the hair through the keratin production, biotin may also pre-vent graying and hair loss. Biotin can be found in a number of foods, including whole grains, milk and eggs. The recommended daily dose of this nutrient is 150-300 mcg. Another important nutrient that works in preventing these hair problems is vitamin B5, which can be found in many of the same foods as biotin. tHe rest of tHe “b” listBiotin aside, there are plenty of other B-vitamins that will give your locks a healthy boost. Inositol will keep hair follicles nourished, while niacin is very good for scalp circulation. Pantothenic acid can assist biotin in preventing graying and hair loss, along with vitamins B6 and B12. Get your “B’s” every day and your hair will thank you with a healthy shine! One multi-vitamin supplement every day combined with a healthy diet should be enough to whip your hair back into shape, but there are also vitamin blends that have been specially formulated for maximum hair health. If an apple each day will keep the doctor away, just think what all those nutrients can do for your crowning glory.
