Use this guide to help you plan the best way to get to and from the match and to make the most of things such as the Fanzone while you’re in the area. The hints and tips below are followed by more detailed information on getting to your match by different types of transport. The maps at the end of the guide will also help you find the best way around.

> Note: If you are attending the New Zealand v Tonga match on the evening of Friday October 9, 2015 consider getting into the city early, possibly before 17:00, to avoid busy local transport as commuters leave central Newcastle at the end of a working day

> If you are travelling longer distances, air, rail and coach could be a good option. Please book your tickets as soon as you can to avoid disappointment

> There is no dedicated spectator parking at the venue except for blue badge holders. Please use Park & Ride/Walk

> If you live in or are staying in the Newcastle area beyond the match, please consider leaving your car behind and exploring the city by bike, on foot or using the great local bus or metro network. Local accommodation is already busy during the Tournament so you may want to book soon to avoid disappointment. Further information available here

> If you are walking around the city on match day, look out for our signs to places like the stadium, Fanzone and station. The Pack, our friendly volunteers, will also be on hand to help you on your way

> Make sure you arrive early and remember that on your way back, the station will be much busier than usual. Why not spend some time at the Fanzone either before or after the match which is at Science Central near the stadium, or take time-out to explore other parts of the city

> Many of the transport arrangements for matches are different to normal so please plan ahead – even if you have been to the stadium before
