Your Wedding at Staunton Harold Hall

We make the splendid suite of State Rooms available for

weddings up to eight times a year, between April and the end

of September.

Our range of State Rooms are spacious, closely connected,

with kitchens and other facilities adjacent. The lawns and

lakes in front of the hall are available for photographs.

Civil Ceremonies are conducted on the first floor in the

Saloon, which has an ornate painted ceiling and is reached by

the Grand Staircase.

Receptions are held in the Great Hall, with dining in the

Ballroom adjacent. There is also a private room set aside for

the bridal party and a Library where guests can relax.

We are now conducting viewings for 2020 and 2021.

What we Charge

Prices for 2020 are:

Reception only: £5700

Civil Ceremony and Reception: £6700

Prices for 2021 are:

Reception only: £5900

Civil Ceremony and Reception: £6900

We are not VAT registered, and there is no corkage charge.

We provide tables and chairs and other items, a wedding coordinator or two on hand on the day, access to

the Hall the day before for preparations and the day after. We only host 8 weddings per year and we only

host one event on any one weekend, so Staunton Harold Hall is an exclusive venue for your wedding. We

do not charge VAT and we do not charge corkage. We do hold an alcohol and entertainment licence.

If you require a civil wedding, you will need to make the necessary arrangements with the registrar, who

can be contacted on 0116 305 6565 or 0116 265 6294.

We do not provide the catering, but can recommend caterers as included in this brochure. You are also

free to choose your own caterer if you wish subject to approval prior to your booking with them. Your

caterers will provide the linen, cutlery and crockery. You can personalise your wedding by choosing your

own flowers, entertainment etc.

Ten percent of the wedding fee is due on booking (non-refundable), and the remainder a minimum of eight

weeks before the event.

If there is anything else we can help you with at this time, please do not hesitate to call us on 01332

864435.

Please contact Caroline Large, to make an appointment to view the Hall on 01332 864435.

Questions and Answers about weddings at Staunton Harold Hall

The setting may be splendid, the State Rooms very grand, but we want you to feel that they are yours for

your wedding day.

Some roles are best left for the professionals but if you have a friend or relative who can make the cake,

arrange the flowers, take photographs, play piano, do use them; it all adds to the intimacy of the occasion.

Please tell your guests the Staunton Harold Hall is a family home, not some anonymous hotel or

conference centre.

How many guests can we have?

We are limited to a 95 if you are having a civil ceremony, and a hundred is our limit for the wedding

breakfast.

Up to fifty extra guests can join the party in the evening.

Do we allow marquees?

Yes, although our state rooms are so large and fine you may not feel it necessary.

Who will do the food?

We have enclosed a list of recommended caterers, all of whom we know to be good, and who have worked

here many times. If you have a preferred caterer, we would be pleased to meet them.

What about drinks?

A bar is usually set up in the Staircase Hall. Names of bar suppliers can be provided.

How about music?

We have found that a good disco gets people on the floor and enjoying themselves. A band can also be

recommended, plus smaller ensembles for arriving guests and for Civil Ceremonies. If you know a

competent pianist the grand piano in the Great Hall is at your service. Music finishes at 11:45pm.

Questions and Answers about weddings at Staunton Harold Hall

What happens outside the house?

Signposts on the day direct guests to our Melbourne Lodge entrance, usually closed to visitors. The bridal

party arrives at the front door, and parking is in the Lion Court car park, immediately behind the hall.

Guests often spill out onto lawns leading down to the lake.

Confetti: please only biodegradable

In the evening, some weddings conclude with a fireworks display, however because we are in the

countryside we request that no loud fireworks are used.

Cars can be left overnight, and collected on Sunday morning.

Facilities inside the Hall?

Besides the usual rooms associated with a wedding reception we have a room set aside for the bride and

her attendants. There is also another room available where a children’s entertainer can be accommodated.

If you have a lot of young children attending it is worth considering how they are going to be entertained.

We do not provide adult supervision.

What are the time constraints?

The hall is available for setting up on Friday for a Saturday wedding. Tables and chairs will already be in

place early Friday morning.

Midnight is the Cinderella hour for the wedding to finish.

Early Sunday morning out staff will be here stacking chairs away etc.

We would ask the Bridal Party to collect any personal belongings – wedding presents, etc. before midday

Sunday when our staff are on duty.

You may have other questions. Caroline can help you with these either by telephone on 01332 864435 or

email: [email protected]

Ann and her team are on duty throughout the day. They will be on hand to make your day run as smoothly

as possible, and to deal with any problems should they arise.
