Study Overview
Context Setting
Sports empowers communities, helps develop life skill & improves national health. In time, it leads to a healthy and vibrant ‘youth force’ that propels the country forward. Most importantly, sports unites communities, builds national pride, changes mentalities, creates community icons and breeds next generation leaders.
India is a country of 1.35 billion where close to 50% of the population is under the age of 25 years. This can prove to be a big competitive advantage for India, provided this category of people are educated & trained. Sports can be the lever used to prepare India’s youth for newer challenges and channelize their energies to creative pursuits.
In India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has clearly articulated that Corporate India has to Contribute Aggressively towards Building a Nation of the Future, through: • Health & Wellness • Sports & Fitness
#YouSay - India as a Sporting Nation
In an effort to capture & reflect the current reality of sports in India, GoPlaySport conducted India’s most comprehensive online sports study called #YouSay - India as a Sporting Nation.
The study is anchored around four key pillars - i.e. Sports Ecosystem, Sporting Culture, Sports Development and Sports Promotion. Conducted over a period of three months and featuring close to 8,500 respondents, #YouSay captures a pan India perspective.

Study Findings
“Purpose can inspire, motivate, direct and drive behavior that delivers spectacular outcomes, beyond the ordinary.
The Purpose of a Nation is to unite and provide opportunities that integrate across race, language and cultural boundaries.
Sports can facilitate and fulfill this Higher Order Purpose. It synchronizes the body & brain and helps increase self knowledge.
This research intends to initiate a debate towards envisioning India as a Dominant Force in World Sports.”
