Emerging Business Leaders (EBL)
PRIMARY BUILDING BLOCK
The purpose of Emerging Business Leaders (EBL) is to provide a no-cost medium for young professionals to interact with each other
and benefit from listening to some of Edmonton’s top professionals from areas of business, arts and philanthropy as they pass along
their expertise and knowledge to EBL’s members.
There is a wide variety of backgrounds among members, such as entrepreneurs, lawyers, accountants, managers, finance
professionals, small business owners, property developers, software developers, hospitality managers, artists, inventors, entertainers,
marketing professionals, engineers, etc.
In the past three years, the group has grown to over 300 members with 30-50 members in attendance at each event, depending on
availability.

Junior Chamber International Edmonton
SECONDARY BUILDING BLOCK
The second largest chapter of the Junior Chamber International brand in Canada, JCI Edmonton has been active in the city since
1929. There are more than 130 members aged 18-40.
JCI Edmonton offers personal and professional development through monthly training and networking socials, community
initiatives, business seminars, and national/international conferences.
While in many (almost all) ways a Primary Building Block, I consider this organization a Secondary Building Block because it is a chapter of a larger organization, and as such, is not entirely
within the community’s control.

Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF)
POTENTIAL BUILDING BLOCK
The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) was established in 1996 and is Canada’s national “go-to”
resource for young entrepreneurs, age 18-34. A national organization with proven success, CYBF offers a wide
variety of services ranging from financing (loans), coaching and mentoring, online business resources, etc.
