INTRODUCTION

YOUTH HOSTEL ASSOCIATION OF INDIA wasstarted in 1949 by Dr. Harish K. Saxena.

It is ISO 9001:2000 certified organization. The Youth Hostels Association of India is a charitable

organization providing youth hostel accommodationin India at a nominal rate. It is a member of the

Hostelling International federation. The movement is based on two basic urges in the

youth - love for the unknown, which includes desirefor adventure and the desire to make friends.

Also they offer the leadership camp for the youth fordeveloping their skills in a trip.

They organize the trekking trip, foreign trip at areasonable price.

At some moment they have find some profit then theyarrange the second trip which is free of cost.

Apart from adventure sports, the Association alsoorganises national level Seminars and IntegrationCamps, Cycle Rallies and Camp Leaders Training

Courses, Tribal Youth Folk Festivals and Republic DayCamps for the border area youth, Yuva Milap Campsand Workshops for Wardens and Assistant Wardens ofYouth Hostels.

PHILOSOPHY

The objects of the Association are to help young people oflimited means to acquire greater knowledge and care of thecountry side by providing hostels in their travels and thusto promote their health and education. It fosters friendly

relations between the rural and the urban youth andpromotes inter-state and international contacts withoutdistinction of class, colour or creed by providing a meetingground in the homely, healthy atmosphere of youthhostels. It organises adventure sports and environment

preservation programmes. Physical fitness of youth inpreparation for defence of the country is a natural andpatriotic duty of the youth, which YHAI brings aboutthrough its adventure sports.

Trust collect fund from donors through arrangecamp.

Most of the construction of hotel is done by thevolunteer.
