What Polish people knows about Turkey?

Population: c.a. 77 000 000Youth people (under 25years old): 25 000 000Official unemployment (whole society): 10%Unofficial unemployment: c.a. 15%Unemployment of youth: c.a. 25%

Reasons of youth unemployment

• Lack of job experience;• Quality of educational system, especially with

foreign languages;• Low salary;• Problems with Kurdish people (low educated,

women working only in home);• Simony and nepotism;

Youth entrepreneurship

+ Government foundation helps with founds for opening own business;

- A lot of bureaucracy make procedures complicated;

- Young people don’t know options given by various institution;

Active participation and volunteering

Until last few years Turkish people start toparticipate in international volunteerPrograms like ERASMUS or EVS. There isalso some National Turkish NGOs whichsupports volunteering.

Old people still don’t trust youth workers. They perceived them us irresponsible and sillypersons. They think that young people don’tcare about tradition and religion, which is reallyImportant in Turkey society. There is a bigGeneration conflict.
