Measuring Dissolved Oxygen Optically
Oxygen is constantly moving through the Diffusion Layer, affecting the luminescence of the sensing layer.
The amount of oxygen passing through the sensing layer is inversely proportional to the lifetime of the luminescence in the sensing layer.
The lifetime of the luminescence is measured by the sensor and compared against the reference.

A hybrid approach - the YSI M&C product performs some process control and some process control is performed by the PLC.
