SITE ANALYSISSite was taken next to the rectorate building, University of Indonesia.

Client OverviewMr. Sonny Kristianto Indrawan (35th years - January 3, 1975) is a Commercial Photographer, the owner of Studio 13. He spent his childhood in Australia and now live in Indonesia with her wife and two children. In the beginning of his career, Sonny Kristianto Indrawan has to go through winding road to reach his goal and dreams. After two years, All the patient, passion and hard work payoff afterward. Slowly Studio Tigabelas become a reliable vendor whom clients would count on.

THE CREATIVE PROCESSDiscussion (brain storming) + Smoking (relaxation) + Studio-work (action)

Quality of the site : It covered by vegetation that creates several dynamic effect on several spots by filtering direct sunlight. No distraction from the sound because the site can not be crossed by car or motorcycle.

PROGRAM PROGRAM was made to fulfilled the needs of client, which is smoking (relaxation), having discussion, and taking photos.

STATEMENTThe client need has to be fulfilled, by developing the elements from the environment.

To create a spacious, comfortable, and provide the quality desired.

Smoking Place

You have to walk through the Discussion Place and a bridge if you want to reach the smoking place. Smoking place needs an open room but still has to be protected from direct sunlight to gain the comfort.

Discussion Place

It is located next to the lake, and covered by glass to r e d u c e t h e a m o u n t o f sunlight that goes into the building. The discussion place has to be comfortable and connected to the urban. It gives you different view from each sides of the building, as references to the brainstorming process

Studio

T h e s t u d i o l o c a t e d underground so it wont get a direct sunlight and has low temperature. One of the sides are open toward the lake, to minimize the feeling of being trapped inside a box.

MAXIMIZE NATURAL POTENTIALUse vegetation and contour to control desired elements, and some artificial support.

As the control of Temperature, Light Intensity, Sound, and Mood, some elements can be develop and use to make a comfortable space, for example: contour or direction of the building.
