MY EXPERIENCES The sense of pride and joy that the athletes displayed

after completing an event was overwhelming to watch

They never gave up they gave their all on each event they participated in

The event humbled me in the fact of not taking anything or my abilities for granted and never give up or use the term “CAN’T”

My JROTC program will volunteer every year with color guard and helping run the events

Overall it was a great day and a wonderful experience, if you haven’t had the opportunity to assist or watch the Special Olympics, I tell you take the chance and get a life altering experience. I want you leave you with a quote that I use with my Cadets in my JROTC program. I try to live by this and instill it in my cadets.

IN ALL SITUATIONS, IT MY RESPONSE THAT DECIDES WHETHER A CRISIS IS ESCALATED OR DE-ESCALATED, AND A PERSON IS HUMANIZED OR DE-HUMANIZED. IF WE TREAT PEOPLE AS THEY ARE, WE MAKE THEM WORSE. IF WE TREAT PEOPLE AS THEY OUGHT TO BE, WE HELP THEM BECOME WHAT THEY ARE CAPABLE OF BECOMING”….
