STRATEGY PRECEDES EXECUTION, EXECUTION DELIVERS STRATEGY

My definition of lean is to employ minimum such resources as manpower, materials, machinery, and space to realize maximum output requested by cus tomer w i thou t accumula t ing unnecessary inventories. On the other hand, the typical approach of traditional companies has been to employ maximum resources to realize minimum output by creating excess inventories.
