ARMYWORM COMBAT WORKSHOP

A platform for an open debate, with a panel of experts including a one hour Q&A session, exploring avenues on how we can combat the armyworm pest crisis in Zambia. AGRITECH EXPO GIVES BACK

Golden Valley Primary School situated at GART Research Centre has been the project of choice as the Agritech Outreach Programme to give back as part of our social responsibility to the students and the school in Chisamba, Zambia.

Agritech Expo organised by Spintelligent, Clarion Events, and the Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU) have invested a lot with heart, thought and assistance from generous sponsors to uplift this school over the past two years. The results have demonstrated a better learning environment for the students and school at large. However, improvements are still needed.

Agritech Expo Zambia organised by leading Cape Town –based trade exhibition and conference company Spintelligent, won two awards: for Best Trade & Consumer Exhibition 12000+ sqm and for Distinction in Social Responsibility Award.

Golden Valley Agricultural Research Trust (GART) is an autonomous and self-sustaining Public Private Partnership, formed in 1993 in a joint venture by the Government of Zambia and the Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU). The GART farm in Chisamba spans over 1300 hectares of prime agricultural land and is the host site to Agritech Expo. The site is situated along the Great North Road, approximately 50km from Lusaka CBD.

Zambia National Farmers Union is the apex farmers association in Zambia, promoting the interest of over 600,000 farmers across Zambia. Over 550 commercial and over 1000 emerging farmer members, 100 agribusiness and large corporate companies, and over 30 associate members and financial institutions will all have access to Agritech Expo and the Agribusiness Congress.

Musika is a Zambian non-profit company that works to stimulate private sector investment in the smallholder market.
