Photoshop Narrative
At first, Photoshop seemed extremely overwhelming. My first idea was
to create a picture of myself shooting a fireball much like you might see in
Street Fighter or some anime. That task seemed significantly more difficult
than I had planned, as I had to download special attachments. I was
uncomfortable doing so on the university’s computers. While I do enjoy the
many resources offered by Lynda.com, my first plan was to ask my friend
who is an art major for assistance on my project because he specializes in
digital imaging. Our schedules did not align however, so I was left
unprepared. When I settled with doing a picture on George Washington, I
first tried to Photoshop a gun in his hand simply because I couldn’t think of
anything else. Had I used Lynda.com I would have learned how to import
images, and could use the tutorial on the subject in the future. After playing
around with the filters I was very satisfied with how the oil painting of
George Washington came out with smoke around it. I felt it was very
pleasing to the eye.
