1.0 INTRODUCTION

In year 2000 PT Maxus South Sumatra (MAXUS), an Indonesian major Offshore Operator wished to have a standard Minimum Facility Platform (MFP) design for the development of new Fields. The MFP project was awarded to ZEE engineering. ZEE carried out an in-depth study on the various options available at that time, which included Braced Monopod, Guyed Caisson, Tripod, Isolated wells, Template, Remote wells and Mini FPSO. This study resulted in the recommendation of a Hybrid Monopod (HM). For the want of a better name this Platform was called Y2K Platform as this was conceptualized in year 2000.

During this period ZEE was in partnership with a local company working in Indonesia as PT WiraZEE and had a blanket engineering contract with MAXUS for all engineering projects. This blanket engineering contract lasted till 2006. During this period a number of such minimum facility platforms were installed by Maxus.

Since 2006, MAXUS company had changed ownership a number of times and today it is operated by CNOOC SES Ltd. During this latter period a large number of MFP’s were installed designed by a number of EPC Contractors.

Recently, this MFP was also adopted by Pertamina Hulu Energi West Madura Offshore (PHE-WMO) and has installed nearly 10 such installation the latest installation in 2015. Currently there are over 40 such installations in Indonesia.

The MFP’s installed in Indonesia are in relatively shallow waters the deepest installation is 65 meters. For this installation an expensive type of sub-sea template was used. In 2015 ZEE saw a need for minimum weight platform for deeper water, and evolved ZEEPod which can accommodate a heavier deck up to 900 Tons and in deeper waters approximately 90 meters. This has been achieved with the introduction of a Sub-Sea Template. With ZEE’s immense installation experience working with companies such as HEEREMA Offshore Contractors (Netherland) safe installation methods have been developed, but using low crane barge and adopting standard offshore installation techniques.

The new ZEEPod installation method has been reviewed and approved by various entities such as EORC (Shell/PCSB), Sigur Ros Sdn Bhd, UGL Malaysia (EPC Contractors) and PT Meindo Elang Indah (Indonesia).

2.0 LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Petronas Carigali (Petronas) was looking for a concept for Minimum Facility Platforms (MFP). In 2015 the Petronas New concept department (NOVEL) requested ZEE to carry out a study for MFP for the Ham Rong Field in Vietnam which is a cyclone prone region. ZEE completed a conceptual study and after a series of meetings was given the maximum rating for Technical Readiness Level (TRL Level 7).

In January 2016 ZEE in conjunction with MMHE proposed ZEEPod for Bokor project for EORC (Shell/PCSB). The Platform is in 70 Meter water depth supporting a deck of 800 Tons (operating weight). The FEED study was reviewed in detail by EORC technical team especially in the safety and installation issues and the design was accepted. Currently we understand that MMHE has been short listed and awaiting bid results.

3.0 SYSTEM COMPONENTS

30m 2015 Petronas Carigali SB was looking for a concept design to be implemented in typhoon prone area, Ham Rong Field. ZEEPod concept was choosen for the concept study. For this study, ZEEPod achieve max points for Technical Readiness Level (TRL Level 7).

5.0 DRAWINGS AND PHOTOS

Drawings & Photos of relevant to ZEEPod are enclosed in APPENDIX A. They include the following; 1. Y2K drawings. This is the prototype design carried out by ZEE in Year 2000.

2. Photographs of Existing Platforms.

3. INTAN BPC; The project was special for ZEEPod. As the platforms were

standardized MAXUS used to stock structural members. In year 2002 there was an urgent requirement for a platform with a deck weight of around 1200 Tons. To design a new Tripod or four legged platform would have put the project back by about a year. MAXUS requested ZEE to come with a concept utilizing stored structural members. ZEE found a solution with dual monopods. The project was successfully executed. Enclosed General Arrangement and installation photographs.

4. KE-38 drawings. This is the design was carried out by ZEE in Year 2015 at 60m

RELOCATION OF TUBAN TERMINAL

Project DescriptionIt was required to relocate the Crude Oil OffloadingFacilities to deeper water to facilitate Offloading fromlarger tankers. The new terminal was relocatedapproximately 1.5km from the existing position. Theproject involved the installation of a new PLEM, submarinepipeline from existing PLEM to new PLEM, Installation(Mooring) of SPM and FSO.

Project DescriptionSantos required an FPSO to operate in their fields in Indonesia.The Contract was awarded to PT Pulau Kencana Raya andLabroy. The proposed FPSO, SEAGOOD I was required toundergo major enhancements to meet with Santosspecifications. To accommodate the 3 phase separationequipment the FPSO required to be jumbonized by 20meters.

The works were carried out I n Labroy Shipyard in Batam.

The lengthof the bundle was 2.1 km. The bundled was towed 65 kmoffshore and installed between 2 platforms.

Project DescriptionMansal Offshore wanted a self elevating Jack-up Rig foroffshore support work in the GULF. As this Project was on fasttrack it was decided to convert a conventional 2,000 Ton DWTlanding craft as the hull for the Jack-up Rig which was oflength 60 meters, 32 meters wide and a draft of 4.8 meters.The rigs 4 legs each measured 75 meters enabling to work inwater depth up to 50 meters.

Project DescriptionCurrently the company is developing marginal fields with a“guardian” monopod solution. A number of fields has beendeveloped using this option. For future development thecompany is looking into a possible more efficient and costeffective solution.

ZEE’s Scope of WorkTo carry out a conceptual study to provide an optimizedsolution for a typical marginal field development. Variousdevelopment options were considered and cost models werecompleted for each option. Project DescriptionThe company has a number if platforms which has exceededthe design life. The company needs to keep these platformsoperative, in some cases with enhancement for additionaloutput. A structural integrity audit was to be carried out onthese platforms for third party certification.

Project DescriptionLima Filed Assets are approximately 30 years old. Due to theheavy extraction of Oil/Gas the complete field has subsidedapproximately 12 meters. PERTAMINA wishes to prolog theproduction life of the field and decide to carry out the liftingof the 4 platforms in the field simultaneously. This is the firsttime such a project has been undertaken.

Project DescriptionBangka Field is a deepwater gas field located in offshoreEast Kalimantan, Indonesia in 3200’ of water. The originalhydrocarbon in place is 179.5 BSCF of gas and 2,766MSTBO of condensate.The field will be developed with two well subseacompletion, tie in the production to existing West Seno(WS) Floating Production Unit (FPU) through a new 9.5”ID Flexible Flow line. A new umbilical will be installed forremote subsea controls from the FPU. Modifications willbe made to the existing WS FPU as a part of BangkaTopside Project for processing and handling of theBangka gas and condensate.

Project DescriptionBangka Field is a deepwater gas field located in offshoreEast Kalimantan, Indonesia in 3200’ of water. The originalhydrocarbon in place is 179.5 BSCF of gas and 2,766MSTBO of condensate.The field will be developed with two well subseacompletion, tie in the production to existing West Seno(WS) Floating Production Unit (FPU) through a new 9.5”ID Flexible Flow line. A new umbilical will be installed forremote subsea controls from the FPU. Modifications willbe made to the existing WS FPU as a part of BangkaTopside Project for processing and handling of theBangka gas and condensate.
