The QUICK FIX system makes the mounting (or dismounting) of the mudguards very easy and quick (on front fork and rear post stays). An adjustable rubber strap secures the mudguards. Soft pads insure a scratch free contact between the rigid plastic part and the frame.

It is 1880, the company Poutrait-Morin (which one century later will become ZEFAL) starts to manufacture bicycle accessories. Later, with the

invention of the tube, Poutrait-Morin will develop the Presta valve (also known as the Sclaverand valve or French valve) and manufacture bicycle pumps. In the 1950’s, with Zéfal and Lapize pumps, Poutrait-Morin rapidly becomes the market leader due to the pumps robust build and light weight.

Since the invention of the Presta valve, Poutrait-Morin has registered many patents to improve the

efficiency, the ease and the comfort of the pumping.Among many other important patents, Poutrait-Morin

invents both the direct push-on connection with thumb lock lever and the reversibility of the internal washer to adapt to all types of valves.

The brand name Lapize derives from Octave Lapize, a French rider, who won the Tour de France in 1910 and Paris-Roubaix 3 times. His brilliant career was interrupted by the Great War during which he sadly lost his life in an air fight in 1917.

the legend of eugène Christophe

Eugene Christophe was a French cyclist born on the 22nd of January 1885 in Paris. Nicknamed “Le Vieux Gaulois” (“the old Gaul”), he won the Milan-San Remo in 1910 with a lead of several hours, finishing the race half frozen

after riding in 30 cm of snow. His fame increased in the 1913 Tour de France. While leading the race he was hit by a car at the top of the “col du Tourmalet”, the impact snapping his fork. After walking for 9 miles, he found a blacksmith and repaired his fork himself in order to resume the race. In 1919 he became the first racer ever to wear the yellow jersey.He is also viewed as the inventor of the toe clip. In 1925, he sold his invention to the company Poutrait-Morin now known as Zéfal Eugène Christophe was a Director of Poutrait-Morin until his death in 1970. His mode of transport when attending board meetings, in Aubervilliers (near Paris), was always his bicycle.Since then Zéfal has never stopped selling these legendary clips and straps.
