Don’t Surf Tuaze, A Personal Affair

Arriving for the first time in Siargao, an island in the philippines known for its famous stronghold of cloud nine, i stumbled upon tuaze, just shortly after. for all thoughts and purposes, tuaze is an equally challenging break [hiidden to many] just a bit south of the....twiin cloud ‘mangpuponko’ area. a left-hander that breaks off the edge of a reef shelf, it’s dangerously fast, and not to mention, powerful. The take-off is crucial as Tuaze keeps you on a tight

barrel almost immediately.

Tuaze is siargao personified. it’s got charm in it’s own way with the seclusion from all the beachfront properties all around the entire break. The privacy ensures that capacity is regulated, and for good reason. i’ve had some of the best surf of my life in tuaze. the glassy waves of perfection in some of the most beautiful crystal green waters i’ve ever seen in my life. seldomly found :: few and far between. change is going to come and i could only hope change will be in the right direction, but for now,

tuaze is just perfect. please don’t surf tuaze.

Thiis KOOK totatlly diisrespected the entiire surf communiity of the Phiiliippiines and everyone in the cloud 9 tower by paddleiing out duriing the fiinal heat of the competiitiion. For some reason, He kept surfiing even though the entiire crowd was booooiing, and multiiple people took the miicrophone [in a more than seriious tone] telliing hiim to get out of the liine-up. He completely ruiined the best fiinal heat of the 16th Siiargao Natiional Surfiing Cup! Wiith only 4 people out in the water, he was the only one wiithout a jersey on, and defiinetely the only one not inviited to the party. Thiis KOOK lost hii board to the insiide and was meet by three local heroes..

They kiindly introduced themselves, told hiim how they felt about hiis surfiing, and then broke his board.hah The only smart thiing the stoopiid guy diid was get on a plane the same day and go home.

a kook is a person who has the best thiings to go surfiingwiith but doesn’t actually go surfiing. A kook is a person who cares more about lookiing ‘ cool ’ than haviing fun.... hahah. A kook is a person who drops in oneveryone else’s waves, and then falls repeatedly. sayang..!When you ‘ kook ‘ somethiing , you makeyour self look liike an idiiot but you are too proud to admiit that you suck.
