DAY 1 - Wednesday
Melbourne /Sydney – Johannesburg
Afternoon
Depart from Melbourne / Sydney International Airport for your flight to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. Here I suggest you all use the same Travel Agent so that all are on the same plane. These Return International Flights are not included in the Tour Cost.

DAY 2 - Thursday
Melbourne / Sydney – Johannesburg
Morning
Arrive at OR Tambo International Airport. This can be on any airline, so long as you land at OR Tambo International between about 09h00 and 16h00 on this day. You then clear customs, collect your luggage and proceed to the Shuttle Terminal. Here you catch the “Peermont Shuttle” which departs every 20 minutes and is a Free Service. You then tell the driver that you are going to the Peermont Mondior Hotel. Met by Dirk Joubert of DJ Tours & Safaris. I will personally be there as I will be the guide for the duration of the Tour. I will then check you in at the Hotel for this night.

Depending on arrival time, you will have the afternoon to relax and recover from your long flight.

This evening we have our Welcome Dinner (drinks not included), which will be in the Hotel/Casino Complex, at a restaurant called Tribes.

DAY 3 - Friday
Johannesburg – Harare - Pamuzinda
Breakfast / Morning
07h00 - Breakfast at the Hotel. 07h40 and 08h00 – Take Shuttle to the Airport.
10h45 - Catch your flight SA 22 to Harare. Please take note of the weight
Limitation of 23 Kg and 7 Kg Hand Luggage.
Lunch / Afternoon
12h15 – Land at Harare International Airport, clear customs, get the Visa
($30/$50 cash) and be met by our representatives in Zimbabwe. Road transfer
through the capital city to Pamuzinda Safari Lodge, situated on 13,000 acres of
pristine wild life habitat just an hour from Harare.
Spend the afternoon relaxing with the option of an activity before a “Welcome to
Africa” barbeque dinner, with a dance show presented by local traditional
dancers.

DAY 4 – Saturday
Pamuzinda – Mana Pools
Breakfast / Morning
Early breakfast before a +- 2-hour road transfer to Chinhoyi Caves, a IUCN
Category II protected area. These are a group of limestone and dolomite caves
and tunnels, with sink and swallow holes. The walls of the Wonder Hole drop
down vertically 45m to the sunlit Sleeping Pool, which is breathtakingly beautiful,
with cobalt blue, crystal clear allowing visibility of around 50m of its total depth
of 80m-90m.

A short drive from the caves brings us to Lion’s Den, for a mouth-watering selection of burgers and rolls, before the +- 4-hour drive down into the Zambezi Valley, meeting the game drive vehicles which will take guests on a 30-min game drive to Greater Mana Tented Camp. Late afternoon game viewing activity ending with a sundowner on the banks of the Zambezi.

DAY 5 – Sunday
Mana Pools
Breakfast / Morning
Breakfast at the Camp.
Then you will be introduced to Pat Driscoll and his team. Pat is Zimbabwe’s top
fishing guide and many times winner of the INTL ‘Tiger Tournament’ and ‘Top
Ten’ as well as a premier ‘Bass Master’ who has fished competition’s in the USA
and world-wide. Pat will be with us all the way through to Binga at the end of
Lake Kariba.

Fish the Lower Zambezi for Tiger and all other species with lunch on an island and dinner back in camp followed by a night drive for those interested.

DAY 6 – Monday
Mana Pools
Breakfast / Morning
Early rise and trawl fish for 2-3 hrs down to Main Mana and the Nyakasanga river mouth to board the game drive vehicles for a full day in the park
Lunch / Afternoon
After lunch return to the Nyakasanga to meet the boats to cruise and trawl back to camp over sundowners.

Dinner is at the Camp.

DAY 7 – Tuesday

Breakfast at the Camp. Last day of fishing the Lower Zambezi or for those interested game drives and walks on the 60 SQ K private concession.

Mana Pools – Kariba (Kariba Safari Lodge)

Following breakfast, a +- 2½ hour road transfer will take guests to Kariba Safari Lodge.
Lunch / Afternoon
Settle into the Lodge, have lunch and then a half day tour of Kariba (Dam wall /Santa Barbra Church & Heights /Visit of the Mahombekombe township to see African culture in action.

Day 9 – Thursday
Kariba – Sanyati River Mouth
Breakfast / Morning
An early morning fishing trip to test the waters of Lake Kariba, before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Board the vessel mid-morning for four-and-a-half-hour cruise across the immense Eastern Basin to Sanyati Gorge, whilst settling in to your cabin and enjoying lunch on board. The vessel will moor at Tower Bay at the mouth of the Sanyati Gorge.

The afternoon will be spent with professional fishing guides, fishing along the Sanyati West shoreline with the impressive backdrop of the Matusadona Mountains and wildlife that roam the foreshore of this national park area. Pat will have had his guys baiting for Tiger prior to our arrival so pretty much guaranteed catching
Evening / Dinner
Enjoy an ice-cold beer or favourite Beverage watching the sun setting over this magnificent body of water, before returning to the vessel for dinner.

Day 10 – Friday
Sanyati Gorge
Breakfast / Morning
Breakfast is on the Boat.
The Sanyati River, which travels a distance of 500km before flowing into Lake Kariba, has cut a dramatic path through the Matusadona Mountains, forming the Sanyati Gorge which is the eastern boundary of the Matusadona National Park. This is river is renowned for producing decent sized Tiger fish and Vundu (Catfish), so there will be a full day fishing excursion down this river with its’ breath-taking cliffs on either side, that rise to over 100 metres.

Lunch will be aboard the tender boats and after sundowners, return to the
vessel for dinner.

Day 11 – Saturday
Sanyati – 3 Finger Bay
Breakfast / Morning
Board the tender boats to do some fishing in the mouth of the Sanyati River and return to the boat for breakfast whilst cruising 4 hours to 3 Finger Bay, close to the Ume River which forms the western boundary of the Matusadona National Park.
Lunch / Afternoon
Once the vessel has moored, a tender boat will take everyone across to Rhino Safari Camp for lunch and an afternoon game drive. This concession is on Elephant Point and as the name suggests, it is not uncommon to find large herds of elephants here.
Evening / Dinner
Savour some sundowners with great photographic opportunities, before returning to the vessel for dinner.

Day 12 – Sunday
3 Finger Bay – Paradise Island.
Breakfast / Morning
For those that did not go out on the afternoon game drive at Rhino Safari Camp, an opportunity to go out on a morning drive or continue fishing for bream among the drowned petrified forests so unique to Lake Kariba in inlets of 3 Finger Bay, before cruising for three hours through the Kota Kota Narrows to Paradise Island.

After mooring, board the tender boat for an afternoon fishing.
Evening / Dinner
Lake and weather conditions permitting, dinner will be a beach braai (barbeque) enjoyed around a camp fire under the canopy of the stars.

Day 13 – Monday
Paradise Island – Sengwa River basin
Breakfast / Morning
The vessel will cast off at first light and begin its ten-hour cruise through the expansive Sengwa Basin. Breakfast and lunch on board, with time to relax as you cross half of this vast expanse of an inland ocean, on route to the Sengwe River Basin.
Lunch / Afternoon
Arriving in the afternoon, the vessel will find a mooring spot and then board the tender boats to fish in this strikingly beautiful riverine area, cruising amongst the drowned mopane trees encountering crocodiles, hippos and other wildlife. Indulge in some delicious snacks and the ultimate relaxation of fishing in this very remote and secluded area with a gin and tonic or your favourite beverage watching another majestic Kariba sunset.

Day 14 – Tuesday
Sengwa - Masuma River Lodge
Breakfast / Morning
A continental breakfast will be served on the tender boat, whilst fishing along the Sengwe River. Return to the main vessel for the final three-and-a-half-hour cruise to Binga, where you will be welcomed at Masuma River Lodge in time for lunch.
Lunch / Afternoon
Thereafter an afternoon tour of Binga, which includes visiting a quaint museum dedicated to the Tonga people, the natural hot springs, a crocodile breeding sanctuary and a local rural school or Tonga village.
Evening / Dinner
Return to the lodge to soak up a last Kariba sunset, from the lodge bar overlooking the islands of this magical, immense inland ocean.

Day 15 - Wednesday
Masuma River Lodge – Hwange Safari Lodge

Depart for a three-hour road transfer through remote and sparsely populated rural
lands of Matabeleland North to Hwange Safari Lodge, passing the gorges of the
Gwaai River and Kamativi, which is home to what was one of the largest tin mines in
Zimbabwe.

Check into the Hwange Safari Lodge, which will be your home for the next 2 nights. Dinner is at the Lodge.

Day 16 – Thursday
Hwange Safari Lodge

Early Morning Game Drive. Breakfast at the Lodge. The next two days will be spent doing 2 Game Drives per day, as well as considering some of the optional activities offered there. These include things like a Village Tour ($45 per person), Visit to the Painted Dog Conservation and Rehabilitation Centre ($10 per person), Night Game Drives ($35 per person), Horse Riding (Rate to be confirmed) and Guided Game Walks (Rate to be confirmed).

DAY 17 – Friday
Hwange Safari Lodge – Victoria Falls
Breakfast / Morning
Breakfast at the Lodge. After Breakfast, we transfer by Road to Victoria Falls. It is about a 3 Hour Trip.
Lunch / Afternoon
Arrive in the Town of Victoria Falls and check into the 4 Star Kingdom Hotel, which will be your home for the last two nights of the Tour. This Hotel is just a few hundred meters away from the Entrance to the Victoria Falls. Afternoon at Leisure to visit the Falls. Victoria Falls is the only waterfall in the world with a length of more than a kilometre and a height of more than hundred meters. It is also considered to be the largest fall in the world. Scottish missionary and famous explorer of Africa David Livingstone (1813-1873) named it after Queen Victoria. Livingstone who was the first European to cross Africa from south to north discovered this awe-inspiring waterfall in 1855, while preaching Christianity in Africa.
The noise of Victoria Falls can be heard from a distance of 40 kilometres, while the spray and mist from the falling water is rising to a height of over 400 meters and can be seen from a distance of 50 kilometres.

Victoria Falls

Breakfast at the Hotel. Full day viewing of the Magnificent Victoria falls.

You also have the option of just relaxing around the pool, walking around the town, viewing the Falls again or opting for any one of the optional extras that are available for Guests. These include the following: Helicopter or Micro-Light Flights over the falls, River Rafting, Bungee Jumping, Bridge Swing or Zipline, Devils Pools (need to cross into Zambia).

Tour Cost:
I will invoice you for payment in ZAR (South African Rand). Your cost in AUS will depend on the
exchange Rate. Now, as of August 2017, it is about R10.50 for AUS1. So, work on R10 for 1 AUS.
Total Tour Cost is R1 430 398.23
That is based on 18 persons Touring, sharing Twin or Double Rooms. If the composition of the
Touring Party is different, I will re-quote.
This then equates to R79 466 per person (18 pax) sharing or AUD7 946 per person.
This excludes your International Flights. These are for your own arrangement and Cost. Suggest you
get one Travel Agent to do all the flights, ensuring that all pax are on the same flight. Fly in to OR
Tambo (Johannesburg) and back.
This includes all accommodation in Luxury Hotels, Lodges, Tented Camps and Houseboats as per the
itinerary. It is virtually Full Board (Breakfast, Lunches and Dinners) apart from Lunch and Dinner on
Departure Day. All Entrance Fees as per the itinerary, all game drives, transfers, boat trips, are
included.
Fishing:
It includes a Full Time Professional Tiger Fishing Guide. This will be Pat Driscoll and his Team. It also
included all equipment, bait and permits. Those that wish to bring their own rods are welcome to do
so.
Visas:
Australian Passport holders do require a Visa. BUT this is very easy. When you land in Harare, you go
to the visa Counter and pay for the visa in CASH ONLY. This must be USD. The Zimbabwe Visa cost
$30 and some of you might want to cross into Zambia on the last free day at the Vic Falls, then you
will take out a multiple entry visa (Univisa) which costs $50.
Malaria:
Zimbabwe in the Winter months is in a “Low Risk Malaria Area”. It is your decision whether to take
the precautionary medication or not. Please consult your doctor or pharmacy about this.
DJ Tours & Safaris takes no responsibility for any person getting Malaria while on this Tour.
Transport:
All Transfers, Boat Voyages, Game Drive vehicles and Return Flights from Johannesburg and back are
included. Please note the weight limitations on this flight. 23 Kg Luggage and 7 Kg Hand Luggage.
Drinks: In some cases, local drinks and beverages are included, but for the rest drinks are excluded.
