Getting Started This document describes the installation method of EVK (Evaluation Kit) for Zing A3 chipset which allows close proximity super speed wireless communication and the user guide on the application software to evaluate the wireless communication.

INSTALL DEVICE DRIVER

1. Connect EVK with PC using included Type-C to USB cable.

2. Confirm if the EVK device is connected with the PC as checking out Start > Device Manager on the menu. The EVK will be appeared as a device name of WestBridge or Zing.


3. Double click the EVK device name on the Device Manager to show the device properties window. Then click Update Driver… button.

4. Click Browse my computer for driver software button.

5. Click OK button after select Driver folder. Then select folder that contains drivers for your PC hardware.


6. If the driver update is completed successfully, the following picture will be appeared.

You can see the updated driver in Device Manager.


7. Run CyControl.exe file which is in Control Center folder in USB memory provided. If device driver for the EVK was installed successfully in the above procedure, you may see the device driver in the left pane as the picture below.

8. Select Program>FX3>RAM to upload firmware in RAM or select Program>FX3>SPI FLASH to upload firmware in FLASH memory.


If the firmware is uploaded in RAM, when you disconnect the EVK from PC, the firmware will be erased from the RAM. On the other hand, if the firmware is uploaded in FLASH memory, the firmware will not be erased even though you disconnect the EVK from PC. If you want to erase the firmware stored in the FLASH memory of EVK module, you should connect two pins of the red box in the picture below and then click RESET button.


9. Window to select firmware image file will be appeared. Select firmware image file for the EVK and click Open button.

10. Once the firmware upload is completed, you may be able to see the driver name changed from BootLoader to BulkloopExample.


EVK APPLICATION SW

This section explains how to install and to operate EVK demo software named Zing Master.

Install Zing Master 1. Run Zing Master 1.6 Installation.exe file.

2. Click Next in Zing Master 1.0 Setup window.

3. Checkout folder which the program will be installed and click Install button.


4. Click Finish button after the program installation is completed. Check out in the checkbox of Run Zing Master 1.0 if you want to run the program immediately.


Run Zing Master 1. Double click Zing Master icon on Desktop window.

2. The following window will be appeared if the program runs without trouble.

3. Path setting

3.1.New path setting We need to specify folders for file upload and download, respectively.


Select folder selection icon to specify Upload and Download path and click OK button.

3.2. Clear current path setting If you want to reset current path setting, click Clear icon appeared picture below.

3.3. Direct path change Current upload and download path appear on the path box. If you want to change the path directly, type the directory in the path box directly and press Enter key. Then the path will be moved to the typed directory immediately.


3.4. Change size of folder icon You can change folder icon size by selecting icon sizes dropdown menu.

4. Setting Tx (Transmission) conditions

4.1. Click Tx button to set the PC running the Zing Master program to be Tx device


4.2. Click Zing logo icon to set Tx conditions detailed

Once the Zing logo icon selected, the Tx conditions setting window appears as follows.

4.3. Set Packets Xer, WaitForXfer Delay, and Xfers to Queue parameters for your purpose.


5. Setting Rx (Receiving) conditions

5.1.Click Rx button to set the PC running the Zing Master program to be Rx device

5.2. Click Zing logo icon to set Tx conditions detailed

Once the Zing logo icon selected, the Tx conditions setting window appears as follows.


5.3. Set Packets Xer, WaitForXfer Delay, and Xfers to Queue parameters for your purpose.

6. File transfer wirelessly using Zing Master program

6.1. Set PC mode as receiving device by clicking Rx button in Zing Master program of PC for Rx.


6.2. Set PC mode as transmission device by clicking Tx button in Zing Master program of PC for Tx.

6.3. Set Upload path of the file for the transmission in PC for Tx.

6.4. Select file for the transmission in the specified Upload folder above. If you want to transmit multiple files, select multiple files together.


6.5.Click Start button in PC for Tx.

6.6. Check out the progress bar of the transmission in PC for Tx.

6.7. Check out the progress bar of the receiving in PC for Rx.


6.8. Finally check out if the transmitted file is stored in the download folder of PC for Rx.
