Zip HydroTap® technologySuperior technology saves energy andconserves water
Zip HydroTap® efficiencyTypical energy efficiency information—commercial models
Power-Pulse™ energy saving technology
Reduces power consumption by allowing the systemto regulate its power during periods of high and lowusage. This saves energy whilst maintaining the tightestpossible temperature control.
Cuts energy consumption
Running costs: no more than 15p per day (with sleepmode active 10 hours in 24), plus boiling water 8 cupsfor 1p; chilled water 20 glasses for 1p.
Sleeps when inactive
The system can be pre-set to power down after 2 hoursof non-use, but will still retain stored ‘boiling’ water atan energy saving 64°C, or can also be set to hibernate(power off completely). The system quickly recovers tothe pre-set boiling temperature upon further draw-off.
Programmable 24/7 timer
Pre-set the ‘power on’ and ‘power off’ times(once a day) for those periods when the Zip HydroTapwill not be used, such as overnight or at weekends(for commercial users).
N.B. To calculate a total running cost figure, add the cost per dayto the number of cups of boiling water consumed, multiplied bythe cost (at 8 cups for 1p) and the number of glasses of chilledwater consumed, multiplied by the cost (at 20 glasses for 1p).
Methodology:
• Typical results of test carried out for Zip and independentlyverified by The University of New South Wales, Australia
• Assumed typical business day; 12 hours operational mode,12 hours sleep mode, 10 minutes full recovery mode
• Operational mode is the default setting; with the main systemusing sufficient power to maintain set temperature in the tanks
• Sleep mode—system powers down if not used for two hours, using only enough energy to maintain ‘boiling’ water at 64°C
• Test conditions—boiling water at 98°C and chilled water atbetween 5°C and 10°C
• The CO2 emission estimates are based on 430 kg of CO2 per1000 kWh of electrical power consumed
• The estimated cost per day is based on £0.10 per kWh

New Zip 0.2 micron filtersreduce chlorine taste and odourand filter out particles more thanone fifth of a micron in size –that’s one five-thousandth(1/5000th) of a millimetre –twenty five times finer thancommonly used 5.0 micronfilters, designed to filter out bothCryptosporidium and Giardiacysts and other impurities, for
crystal-clear great-tasting waterand healthier drinking.
This is arguably the mostadvanced and most practicalwater filtration system availableanywhere today, developed tomeet our exacting specificationsby the world leader in waterfilter technology.
Zip 0.2 micron filtercartridgesare incorporated into the ZipHydroTap installation under thesink, or out of sight within theZip HydroTap control cabinetinstalled beneath the tap.
Zip 0.2 micron filtercartridgesare hygienically encased forfast and easy filter cartridgereplacements. Cartridges arereplaced every 12 months, orearlier if a high level of waterusage makes it necessary.
Zip HydroTap‘filter change light’flashes when a filter change isdue. It can be set to measureboth water volume and thenumber of days in service, signalling whichever occurs first.

OverviewEnergy-efficient water heaters
Bare wire technologyThe Zip ES, CEX, DEX and DBXmodels feature bare wire heatingtechnology using stainless steelelements directly immersed inthe water flow path. This systemachieves maximum efficiency bymeans of direct contact with thewater flow plus the fastestpossible heat up times.
Unlimited supply of hot water *Zip InLine will deliver a continuoussupply at the selected temperature.
Easy installationZip InLine products simply connectto standard closed outlet tapswithout the need for unventedwater controls.
Smart designThe unit’s compact size enablesit to fit neatly and unobtrusively inany location.
Water conservationZip InLine is designed forinstallation close to the point ofuse, avoiding the need for waterto be run off before achievingtemperature.
Savings per draw off comparedto centralised systems with longpipe runs are as follows:

Why Zip InLine instantaneouswater heating?Zip InLine instantaneous waterheaters are the most energyefficient way of directly heatingwater electrically.
Using the very latest Germantechnology, Zip InLine offers ahost of Specifier, Installer andEnd User benefits:
• Unrivalled energy efficiency– No standing heat loss.
• Sophisticated electroniccontrol.
• Unlimited hot water supply.
• Easy to install.
• Compatible with standardtapware.
• Neat compact design.
• Tangible water savings.
Energy efficiencyZip InLine saves energy by:
• Heating only the waterdrawn off.
• Avoiding stored waterheat losses.
When comparing the energyused over 24 hrs to deliver 75litres of water at 38°C (assuming12°C supply) typical savings of23% can be achieved.
N.B. Percentage savings may beless with increased demand butmore during periods without drawoff.
