■ Ziprasidone provided "significant and sustainedheadache improvement" in three migraineurs withrefractory chronic daily headache, report researchersfrom Ireland. The women did not have asimultaneously active psychiatric disorder whenziprasidone 20–60 mg/day was started. The headacheswere associated with overuse of analgesics in at leasttwo of the women. Following ziprasidone initiation at20 mg/day, two of the women experienced asignificant and sustained reduction in headacheseverity scores from 1 and 2 weeks of treatment, respectively; for the third woman, the sameimprovement occurred within 4 days of ziprasidonebeing increased to 40 mg/day. The patients alsoexperienced reductions in headache frequency. Theonly adverse event reported was mild sedation in onewoman, which was not problematic.Cahill CM, et al.
