Zomick’s Bread – Bread Machine Challah Recipe II

This recipe gives properly inflated, not too sweet challah bread. You can prepare it either with the bread machine or by hand. It’s absolutely delicious.

Ingredients

16 cl of warm water

600 g flour

2 teaspoons of salt

7 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 packages baking powder

5 eggs

3 egg yolks

30 g sugar

Directions

Place warm water, sugar, honey, vegetable oil, salt, 2 eggs, flour and yeast in the bread machine as above-mentioned. Knead for about 10 minutes and let it stand about 2 hours. Knead again for about 5 minutes. Remove the dough from the bread machine and put it on a floured surface.

Divide the dough into three equal parts. Roll into ropes of about 30 cm, and braid into a loaf. Brush over the challah with egg mixture and let it stand 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 180 ° C, and put a container for water in the oven.

Place the challah inside the oven when it has doubled in volume, about 40 minutes. Check the internal temperature of challah, if possible. The bread should have a nice hollow sound when thumped on the bottom.

Cook: 40minutes;
