AESTHETICS THEORY OF AESTHETIC CULTURE

Summary

In this paper, the conception of aesthetics as a theory of aesthetic culture ispresented. The author tries to overcome the 20th century's crisis of aesthetics, offering atheory concentrated and built on Friedrich Schiller's notion of "aesthetic culture",realized as cultivation of human sensual and instinctive being by means of form, i.e. bymeans of beauty. The theory of aesthetic culture encompasses all the levels and types ofhuman cultivating activities (comprehended as an aesthetic quest for meaning), whoseultimate values have been reached in art. But the theory, aligning all the activities andtheir works in a continual range, does not mean any overestimation of art itself or any

raising of it above all other human activities. In the very end, the author gives both maindeficiencies and possible advantages of his theory of aesthetic culture.
