Summarize
Radio network optimization (RNO) is the important step in network construction.
RNO adjust the planning and design reasonably , improve the network coverage,
increase the network capacity, improve the network service quality and resource
utilization ratio. Make the network operation more stably , and provide excellent
service.
Data collection is the necessary premise of analysis and adjustment. Optimization
data including:Driving test data(DT),Call quality test data(CQT),OMC
performance data, Customer’s complains, Alarm data , signaling data and other
data.
ZXPOS CNT ( UMTS Edition, for Short CNT) is the professional network
optimization test software developed by ZTE . CNT helps the RNO engineer to do
the test and analysis. Locate network problem and evaluate network quality and
capacity, constitute the optimization solution.

The requirement of the site information table, at least must including 9
parameters as follows:

2 methods to create map:
1. Import the MapInfo format map
2. Use MapInfo convert JPG or BMP format file to Tab format file.
Steps of convert JPG or BMP format file to Tab format file :
1. Download the city map via the accessorial software ( for
exampleSupperget2000 series ).
2. Use MapInfo open the map

3.Click <Register> on figure 2 to calibrate the map。
4. Select 3-5 points from Google earth or by GPS test, Click <Add>,Enter the
right longitude and latitude as figure 3 and figure 4.
5.Click <OK>,the software will generate map automatic, then the calibration is
finished.

Method to design the testing route:
Some times you need prepare the testing route at first, The method to design
the route in MapInfo as follows:
1. Open MapInfo, open the map file. Click <New Table>, Create a new layer
on the map layer. The detailed setting see figure 6 and 7.

2. Save the file to certain folder
3.Click [Map →Layer Control], select the pop-window from layer control window,
add the new layer just now created. The detailed setting see figure 8

5.Save the route.

Driver install:
First plug the USB dog, if inform “find new hardware”,click <cancel>. Click [ Start
→Program→ZTE WiNOM →ZXPOS CNT-UMTS →Micro Dog Install Driver ], Open the
install window.
Select install USB dog driver to install.

Methods:
The figure shows how to connect the equipment,List the equipment for test, such as
GPS 、 GPS antenna 、 RS-232 cable 、 Test Mobile phone 、 Mobile cable 、 CNT
hardware license、Laptop。

1. Connect all equipment
2. Start the software. In the left of the window, add mobile and GPS.
Parameter description: Build In: (1)Sim Navigator:Simulate a GPS,when no GPS connect to computer, software will simulate a GPS, will generate location information randomly (2)Indoor Navigator:If do the indoor test, selection this option COM:The port connect the equipment APT File:load or unload test data. CellSite File:load or unload site information

3.Click[ My computer →Management→ Device management→ port(COM and
LPT)], Check the port information.
4.Right click to detect GPS and UE. Then right click test phone, select<Test Mode> to active test. Select a folder to save the test data in the pop- window.

5.Load map and testing route: Click Button to show map window. Click
to add map and testing route.
Notice:If the map file is tab format, you can select Automatic labels on the Properties window, to show the route name.

6.Load site information. Click [ File->Load Cell Site…] to load site information.
Notice:Click [ File->Unload Cell Site ] can unload the site information. If already load site information, then you add other site information table, former will be unload.

range, relationship between capacity and coverage.
Compare different service, it is uplink limited or
downlink limited.

channel coverage test.

auto-test plan flexibly.

4.In Time Statistics window, record all the time statistic message during conversation, including access request count, call setup time, call time, teardown time, and Idle time.

User Name: Password: Redial if Drop: Notice:Connect is not a individual test,it’s used to establish the dial-up connection automatically. So the engineer don’t need to dial manually. It’s recommend to be the first test item.

4.Click <Throughput> to check the throughput, status of data transmit and statistic message.
